Netflix has renewed their new show Narcos for a second season only a week after its upload to the streaming website, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Narcos is an American crime drama that debuted on August 28 of this year on Netflix. It is a serialized take on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar played by Wagner Moura and the Medellin Cartel. The show was created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard  and Doug Miro. The creative team originally envisioned Narcos as a movie, the producers told reporters in July at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that they realized it worked better as an ongoing series “When you get into the complexities of the drug world, of the characters, you sort of realized you need a lot of time to tell that story” Newman Said.

The success of Narcos continues Netflix’s run of successful original programming with the likes of Orange Is The New Black, Daredevil Bloodline, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt today but a few Netflix show no sings of slowing down with new show planed with Marvel like Luck Cage and Jessica Jones and the Chelsea Handler Talk Show.
