Last night was the first time in a long time that I got to go to the cinema to watch a a movie. I missed a lot of good movies so let me know what ones I should try and catch up on.

The movie I went to see was Doctor Strange now I was not looking forward to this movie what so ever. I hadn’t read any of the comics, all I knew about the film was that is was about sorcerers (I don’t know if that is the right word never mind if I spelt it correctly or not) So why did I go and see it I hear you asking and the answer is simple. I didn’t want to see Guardians of the Galaxy either because it have a talking racoon that love guns in the movie, but I went to see it anyways and the I loved the movie and the talking racoon that loved guns turned out to be the best part of the movie.

So what Im trying to say is that Marvel have a way of turning the ridicules into something everyone can enjoy, so yes I gave them the benefit of the doubt. As I was watching the first scene I was thinking o god what did I let myself in for. It looked like a cross between Inception and the Green Lantern.

So I settled in for the long haul. All I could do was think of bad things to say about the movie like Cumberbatch charter was a dick and how was he ever going to make a joke. (Marvel movies success comes partly from the humor in there movies) As the movie went on and it started to explain the world that it was set in I started to enjoy the movie. The fight scenes where very good and special effects were top class and with Cumberbatch playing the lead role I knew that Marvel had an other hit on there hands.

The rest of the world must think so as well because the world wide takings for Doctor Strange is nearly $500 million. Doctor Streang is a very good addition to the Marvel Universe and it will be interesting to see him interact with all the other heroes. we got a sneak peek of how an encounter would go at the end of the titles as Doctor Strange has a chat with Thor and the results are great. The little sneak peek also hint that we will see Doctor Strange in Thor: Ragnarok which is due out in 2017

Over all I loved this movie and would highly recommend it to any marvel fans and even if you not a marvel and have never seen any of their 13 movies beforehand don’t worry you will still be able to fellow along. Have you seen Doctor Strange yet if you have let me know what you taught about it but leaving a comment int he comment box below. You can also check out our last post here. Hi and welcome, I think it is about time for an other review. This week I took a look at Bad Moms. Bad Moms has an all star cast made up of Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith,  and Annie Mumolo.

From the people that brought us the hangover, they now bring us Bad Moms.

Amy (Kunis) has a hectic life she has one overachieving  child and one underachieving child that makes her do her homework for him. she also has a husband that doesn’t want to help around the house and doesn’t appreciated what she does around the house as well as holding down a full time job. Amy find her husband cheating with an woman online and kicks him out of the house.

Screen Shot 2016-08-16 at 18.02.03

This is the final thing to push Amy over the edge, She finally snaps and decides that she is going to have some fun and look after herself for once. She meets some new friends that have kids and starts to party, as well as getting into a fight with the mother that run the PTA.

From the outset you know things are going to go wrong but you keep watching anyways.

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn are very funny together as the moms who decide to cut lose and look after themselves and have some fun.

Screen Shot 2016-08-16 at 18.02.25

When I heard that this movie was made by the same guys that made the hangover movies it made a lot of sense, because the movie felt familiar to me like I have seen it before. This made me doing the review of the movie very easy if you liked the hang over then you will like this movie. It did do something that I wasn’t expecting It made me think about how hard my mother worked when I was growing. Now don’t get me wrong I knew she did a lot of for the family and I did appreciate it but I never really got how much stress that would put her under doing all that work which makes me appreciate her that much more.

This is defiantly a movie that a husband and wife can sit down and enjoy together, it is more so for the mothers out there. Here is the trailer take a look and see what you think.

Have you seen Bad Moms yet? if you have let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment in the comment box below. You can also check out some of the other reviews that I have written up here. Thanks for reading until next time keep on Viewing.

Suicide Squad Review

On Friday night I got the chance to go and see the most highly anticipated movie of the summer Suicide Squad. It had already had its world premiere a few days before that. The reviews were out and it didn’t look good. Matter of fact it was nearly as badly reviewed as Batman VS Superman, and we all know how that ended up.

I chose to ignore all the reviews and go into the movie with an open mind, mainly because the first trailer I seen was so damn good. You know the one Im on about, it was the second trailer for Suicide Squad with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It was one of the best trailers i have ever seen for a movie.

On the back of that I wasn’t going to let a few bad reviews stop me from enjoying this movie.

I would like to point out that Suicide Squad is indeed better then Batman vs Superman (that wouldn’t be hard), but it is still a movie that I didn’t enjoy.

First of all the first half of the movie seems to be one big long music video as they are introducing the characters they have song after song, which is ok to a certain point, but when you get to the stage when your sound track is better then your movie you know you have done something wrong. I think they had such success with the trailer they tried to brig as much as that into the movie as possible, but less is more in some ceases.

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 16.29.03

Next thing I didn’t like about the movie was Jared Leto’s Joker I seen what he was trying to do by been even crazier then Heath Ledger’s Joker in the Dark Knight. There was two problems with that first of all Heat Ledger played the perfect Joker in that movie and no one will ever be able to top that performance. Second was that Leto’s Joker seemed to be angry the whole time and that was why he was crazy where I think the Joker did all the evil stuff cause he enjoyed doing it and that is what makes the Joker crazy but that could be just me. Let me know what you think.

The next thing that I didn’t like about the movie was the bad guys. In the comics the Suicide Squad was fighting for the good side because they had a chip in their heads that would explode if they didn’t. In the movie this is the same way but the Squad also want to risk their lives for the greater good and that doesn’t sound like something the worst of the worst would do. The Squad are trying to atone for their actions it felt like.

Also the people that are controlling them are meant to be good guys (how good can they be if they stick a bomb in someones head so they will do as they are told) but throughout the movie you see the good guys are as evil or more so then the villains. I would of enjoyed the movie more if you had the Squad fighting their captures as well as the big bad but again that is just me.

This was the first time that Will Smith was to play a bad guy. I don’t think he did played a bad guy, he played a guy who wants to change for his daughter but in the comics he has a death wish and that is why he said he would join the team this would drastically change the way Deadshot should be played I think.I do think that Margot Robbie played Harley Quinn as the girls who was driven mad by the Joker and wants to get back to here love. I think that she stole the show from Will Smith.

Star Trek Beyond Review

Screen Shot 2016-07-26 at 09.47.30

I was ment to do this last week but I just didn’t get around to it so here we go, it’s the Star Trek Beyond Review.

First of all I would like to say that I am not a big Star Trek fan.

I have seen a few of the older movies but never watch the shows. In saying that I am really enjoying relaunch of the franchise. I taught the first movie was great. It looked great, it was well acted and it had a good flow to it. I also seen the second movie Star Trek Into The Darkness, which wasn’t as good as the first movie but still watch-a-bill.

That brings us to the latest instalment, Star Trek Beyond. First of all when I seen the trailer I taught this would be the end of the franchise. To me the Enterprise was as much as a character of the movies as the actors themselves, and as you seen from the trailers the Enterprise doesn’t last long in this movie at all.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.33.05

That was just the trailers and Im here to talk about the movie. First of all it starts off with a traditional captains log where captain Kirk lets us know what the crew has been up to since the last movie. They are 900 days into a 5 year journey and Kirk and the crew are feeling the strain of prolonged missions in space. Kirk is questioning his position as captain of the Enterprise and even looks into leaving and taken up a post on a deep space port.

Don’t worry lades and gentleman he has to go on one last mission before he can leave. His mission was to save the crew of a ship stranded on a planet. He embarks on a what should be a simple rescue mission. When they get to the planet they quickly find out it is no ordinary mission. The ship is attacked and crashes to the planets surface after the crew is captured, Kirk and few others manage to escape and start to plan on how to save their crew members.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.34.01

That is all of the plot I am going to give away I don’t want to ruin the movie for you. I enjoyed this movie a lot one of the main things I noticed was the fact that this is the first movie in the new series that moved away for the old movies and started to tell its own stories. The story is told at a fast pace you will not fell like over 2 hours has passed.

There was a lot of character development in the movie and not just with Captain Kirk. The likes of Scoty and Bones got a lot more screen time this movie which I enjoyed as I like there characters and the way they interacted. There relationship is a really looked at throughout the movie. I think the fact that they got more screen time is down to Sean Pegg taking over the writing of the movie. I think he did a great job with it.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.34.17

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It did fell like it was a stepping stone for more stories to be told away for the original movies, which I am happy about because the old movies were good but it is time for new stories, what do you think, let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box below. Over all I would recommend this movie to and Sci-Fi fans and any Star Trek fans you will enjoy the ride. Let me know what you taught about the movie by leaving a comment below.

Money Monster Review

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.05

This week we are taking a look at Money Monster staring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell, and it was directed by Jodie Foster. The first thing that came to mind about this film was (wow it is a great cast) the next thing that came to mind was (wow she is a great director), the next thing to come to mind was (its a good story line), and the last thing that came to mind was I have to see this movie. Well that is what I did.

First of all as I watched the first 5 minutes all I could think was bloody hell George Clooney is such a dick in this, I found this weird as I have only really seen him as the smooth talking nice gym even when he was playing a thief in oceans 11 you could not but love him (wow this is sounding like a love letter to George Clooney, but I am getting to a point so stay with me) but to see him jumping around on stage like a fool was a bit tuff to watch, but as the film goes on you can see why it was played like that, and it worked.

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.41

I better give you a quick rundown of the story line. George Clooney plays Lee Gates the host of a financial advise/entertainment show that tell you what stock to buy and why, but he does this with back up dancers costumes and stupid catch phrases like “have some balls”. Underneath it all he is a looney man that claims that he has never eating dinner alone since the 90’s. Then you Julia Roberts who plays Patty Fenn who is the director of the show and tries to keep Lee on a short leash but it is a tuff job as he doesn’t want to listen to her the whole time which leads to Patty taking a job at an other station. One of the stock tips that was given on a pass show has bombed and a lot of people lost a lot of money, entry Jack O’Connell’s character Kyle Budwell who lost 60k in the bad stock tip and he want to know why so he goes into the studio during a live show and hold the place up with a gun and a bomb until he gets some answers.

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.24

As I said at the start It was tuff to watch Clooney that Lee at the start of the movie but I think this was well set up by Forster because she made you think wow this guy is a very annoying but as the movie goes on you can see his character start to change and grow, and start thinking about someone other then himself. The transition is subtle but fast at the same time and also helped along by Roberts character Patty. Now I could be wrong in this but that is the beauty of movies you can take whatever you want out of them and if it makes sense to you then nothing else maters

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.58

I taught the cast was great in this movie with Clooney and Roberts work well together like they always do. This time with the added bounce of having up and coming star Jack O’Connell there as well. O’Connell gave a great performance as the hostage taker. They all gave great performances that was brought out by the director Jodie Foster. She paced the film well and brought the best out of her actors. Did you see Money Monsters, if you did let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment below in the comment box.You can also check out more movie reviews here. Bad Neighbours 2
Blog New Release Review

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 11.56.10

Last night I went to see Bad Neighbours 2 I was looking forward to this movie because I enjoyed the first one, but at the same time I was worried because I didn’t think that there could be a sequel that would give us a fresh story that hasn’t be told all ready. Unfortunately I was right they pretty much put out the same movie as the first one whit the difference of it was sorority as a posed to a fraternity.

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 11.58.11

So the plot of the movie is Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) are back and they are trying to sell there house as they bought a bigger house because they are having a second baby. While Teddy (Zac Efron) is back he is still working in Amber Cromby and Finch and is stuck in a route while all of his fraternity brothers are moving on with there lives. Morgan (Chloe Grace Moretz) is a freshman that wants to party smoke pot and have fun with her friends, but she finds out that Sorority’s are not aloud to party so they have to go to the fraternity to party and she finds out its not for here as she is treated as a pice of meat. So she decided to to try and set up her own sorority so she they can party there own way. The house they pick for there sorority house, yes you guessed it they movie in beside Mac and Kelly while there house is in escrow which is just a cooling down period for the buyers.

So as I said it turns out to be the same movie as the first one but in saying that there is still some funny bits that will make you laugh out loud. I  did like how they tried to progress there main characters (Teddy, Mac and Kely) they also addressed the culture sexism in the US collage campuses. In saying that I still would not go into this expecting to see an Oscar contender. Its what nearly every comedy sequel is a reason to make money.

At the end of the day it was your simple three part act that didn’t have a lot of taught put into the script so they just repackaged the first movie and put out Bad Neighbours 2. I give it 2 out of 5. Did you see Bad Neighbours 2 if you did let me know what you taught by leaving a comment below. you can check out other movie reviews here. X-Men Apocalypse Review
Blog Box Office New Release Review

May 18, 2016
images.jpg xmen

Last night I went to the premier of X-Men Apocalypse in the Sligo Omniplex. I don’t know where to start but as a wise man once said start at the beginning, so That is what I will do. X-Men Apocalypse is the third installment in the Bryan Singer reboot of the franchise.

The first set of movies were released was released in 2000 and was simply called X-Men. That original series of films had 3 movies in it. the first series of movies did alright for fox so they decided to continue on making movies about mutants which turned into spin off movies about fan favorite Wolverine and they also introduced a new character to the X-Men world in the form of Deadpool which became one the biggest R-rated movies in ever.

They also decided to reboot the X-men series and it was handed to Bryan Singer to direct but ended up producing it instead and the directors job fell to Mathew Vaughn. X-Men first class came out in 2011. The prequel was haled as a critical and commercial success. Up next in the thrillogy was X-Men Days of Future Past as of the first movie Days of Future Past was a run away success earning 740 million and it also was the best reviewed X-Men movie ever.

So now that we are all caught up lets get talking about X-Men Apocalypse, the last in the current series of X-Men movies. With First Class being set in the 60’s and Days of Future Past set in the 70’s it was only right to finish the prequel’s in the 80’s just before the original X-men movies stared.

I cant put it off any longer I have to review it now. I don’t know what to think about this movie but I am hoping that by written this I can figure it out if not it will be a pretty bad review isn’t it. First of all the trailer was miss leading I was going into this film expecting a full on action from start to finish. That was not the case there was a lot of character development from the get go. We were introduced to the young X-Men and watched them grow from teenagers into heroes led by Mistique.

The main thing that stood out was how good the acting was with the always reliable James MaAvoy and Michael Fastbender giving great performance yet again and  new comer to the series Sophie Turner  (game of Thrones) was very good as the standoffish Jean Grey. The person that really made the film enjoyably for me was Even Peters as Quicksliver. He brought a lot of humor to the movie and was a breath of fresh air.

Over all it was a good film (look at that I did like it after all) It wasn’t what I was expecting but I did enjoy the film. There is room for Singer to continue the story, to bring it back in line with the first movie in 2000 but I’m not sure if they will do that because  in X-Men Days of Future Past they change the time line so they don’t have to match up the two story lines. Plus they are look to start work on an other spin off movie X-Force so it could be a while before we see the X-men again.

Let me know what you taught about X-Men Apocalypses by leaving a comment below also let me know what is you favorite X-Men movie is. You can check out some other reviews on past movies here. Thanks for reading and until next time keep on Viewing.

Captain America Civil War Review

April 29, 2016
Screen Shot 2016-04-29 at 17.18.04

A few weeks ago I went to see Batman vs Superman and to say I wasn’t impressed is an understatement (you can read my review here). I was looking froward to Marvels offering this summer but I was worried because the Russo brothers (directors of Civil War) gave an interview in The Hollywood Reporter  (check it out here) saying how the main reason they got to do the Civil War storyline was because WB was doing Batman vs Superman.

So I wasn’t sure what to expect from it and as I sat down in the cinema for the midnight showing, I shouldn’t have worried because It turned out to be my favourite Marvel film released to date. Where do I start, it was all so good, lets take a look at the new characters to the Marvel universe. First up is The Black Panther played Chadwick Boseman. I didn’t know a lot about this character before the I seen the movie and tell you the truth I only know the basics where he comes from why he is the Black Panther and that he kick ass, It has defiantly left me wanting to see more form him.

The Next newcomer is a heavy hitter Spiderman. Fans have being waiting to see Spidi in the MU for a long time, and now that it has happened I think that it was well worth the wait. Spiderman is played Tom Holland how you might remember from the movie The Impossible. This role is a 100 miles away for the character he played in The Impossible, but he killed it he was very funny and again it left you wanting to see more form him even though it will be the third 2 reboot of that franchises.

Screen Shot 2016-04-29 at 17.21.38

Now time to talk about the regulars of the MU Captain, Iron and co. Since the first Avengers movie there has being a lot of frustion between Iron man and Captain American. Well they finally get to kick the hell out of each other. So the reason they are fighting is because the United Nations want the Avengers to sing a contract that will put the Avengers under the control of the politicians which doesn’t sit right with Cap, all you can say after that is let the fight begin.

Over all I loved it. The fight at the airport was some of the most entraining things I have seen in a long time. Now some people will say that I consontrarted to much on Cap and Iron man in this review well there was just to much happing in the movie to talk about it all with out giving away some of the story so what I will do is I will give you a run down of all the characters that in this movie.

Screen Shot 2016-04-29 at 17.18.04

Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Wanda Maximoff, Winter Soldier, Spiderman, Black Panther, War Machine, and Vision.

There you go more heroes the you could shake a stick at. Put all these together for a fight you are in for non stop action and that is exactly what you get. Again I loved this movie and I give it 5 out of 5 let me know what you think of it by leaving a comment below. Thanks for ready see ye all next week until then keep on Viewing.

So I finally got a chance to go and see Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice. My stance on comics and super hero movies is, I used to read comics when I was younger, but it was mainly Marvel. In saying that I did also read Batman, but that was the only DC comic I like I didn’t care about any of the other heroes at DC. Now I haven’t read comics in a long time (except for Y the Last Man which was a great comic) but that is off the point, even though I haven’t read comics in a long time I still really enjoy the films and it is shaping up a lot like when I read comics, I am enjoying the Marvel films over DC.

Screen Shot 2016-04-04 at 18.04.53

I did really liked Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy, like a lot of people out their. Now stay with me I am getting to the Batman vs Superman movie, but I wanted to talk about the Man of Steel first when I first saw it I didn’t know what to think about it because I felt like it was one big CGI movie with a little dialog in it but in saying that once I saw it for the second time I was like “I would watch the next one” fast forward years 3 years later, to Batman vs Superman. I was looking forward to this one more then normal I taught with Snyder at the helm this could be a good movie, but I was worried about Ben Affleck very worried we all still remember Daredevil.

This is where Im going to warn you about spoilers so If you don’t want to know what happens stop reading now you have been warned. It turns out I didn’t need to worry about Affleck that much (more on that later) It was Snyder. I taught the whole film was rubbish First of all it is called Batman vs Superman well there was only one fight scene (in a 2 and half hour movie) where Batman and Superman bet the hell into each other which to me left me like “what the hell man I want to see them fight let them fight” The next thing that pissed me off was that once again they portrayed Superman as the man that can do no wrong, you cant relate to that sort of charter. I taught they would dig into Clark Cent more and how he is dealing with living on earth and try to be human but no they just glossed over it and mad him like everyone else has made him unrelatable so that sucked.

Screen Shot 2016-04-04 at 18.06.53

Ben Affleck as Batman was good I liked him playing it so no complaints their. Now Lex Luthor  is a different story altogether from watching shows like Smallville and other Superman movies Lex Luthor was a little bit crazy like “I want to kill superman and take over the world” type of crazy but Lex, played by Jesse Eisenberg, was straight up nuts talking to himself and I just didn’t like it but that could be just me.

Going forward the I find most wrong with the movie universe is how it totally blocked out the TV universe that WB has going for its self with the likes of Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and its most popular show The Flash which has millions of viewers each week, and for them to turn around and start over with new unknowns doesn’t make sense to me. Over all I give Batman vs Superman 2 out of 5.

Screen Shot 2016-03-13 at 15.00.13

Hi Viewers it has being a while since my last post but there was a lot of stuff happening in the background of viewit so I had to take care of that but I’m going to try and get back to regular programming now.

So first up we are going to take a look at London Has Fallen the fallow up to the 2013 box office hit Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler returns as the tuff as nails Secret Service agent in charge of the Presidents safety. Aaron Eckhart also returns to the role of President. Also returning is Morgan Freeman. Freeman’s charter has moved on from speaker of the house to vice President.

The English Prime Minister has passed away and all the world leaders are going to London for the funeral. As you can imagine having over 50 world leaders in your city at one time can lead to problems in protecting them. It doesn’t take long for everything to go south and Banner has to step up and single handily protect the president agents an army of terrorists.

I really liked the first movie so I was excited to hear that they were making an other one. Like most big actions sequels I new the treat was going to be bigger and so was the actions scenes and they did not disappoint. It was an action packed ride from start to finish.

I did notice a few things during the movie, first of all, in the first movie I taught the President was a lot braver standing up to the terrorists and in this movie it felt like the first movie never happened there was no mention of it at all and the President was very much stand back and let Banner do all the work which didn’t go with how he dealt with things in the first movie I felt. Also Banner was written a lot more brash and confident. Again in the first movie he was a down and out agent trying to live with losing one of the people he was sworn to protect, and in this movie he was a different man. He also cursed a lot and it felt like he was only doing it for the sake of it, but again that could just be me.

It also felt like they were setting up more movies further down the line. It felt very much like they were trying to set up a Die Hard like franchise which is fine by me because I love Die Hard, but all I will say is don’t try to be John McClane there is only one man that can pull that off.

Over all I liked the movie and I would defiantly recommend it to any action fans out there you will enjoy it I give it a 4 out of 5. Let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment below. Thanks for reading until next time keep on Viewing.
