Bowfinger (1999) Official Trailer - Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy Movie HD thumbnail

Hi and welcome to this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie (S.N.S.I.M). If you are new to S.N.S.I.M let me tell you what it is about. There are two groups of people on a Saturday night. The first group is the people that go out and party and have a good time. The second group of people are the one that stay in for what ever reason. This blog is for the second group of
people.

This week I am going with a comedy staring Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Heather Graham, and Robert Downey Jr. It is of course Bowfinger. Steve Martin stars as a producer that never got his break so he decides to make things happen for himself. He decides to put his life saving into a movie and try and shoot it with one of the biggest stars on the planet but the only thing is the star (Eddie Murphy) doesn’t know he is even in a movie.

Screen Shot 2016-08-19 at 17.47.10

As you can expect it is bit mad, but that is what makes it brilliant. This is one of my favourite comedies ever. Steve Martin was at his best as the producer who will say and promise you anything to get his movie made. Eddie Murphy was also at the hight of his career and works very well with Martin, first as Kit Ramsey and then Jiff Ramsey Kits twin brother.

Screen Shot 2016-08-19 at 17.44.46

This is your typical Steve Martin movie full of laughs and none stop puns. If you liked movies like Roxanne and the Man with Two Brains then you will love this movie too.

Over all this is a great movie that everyone can enjoy. Here is the trailer, have a look

Have you seen Bowfinger before? If you have let me know what you taught of it by leaving a a comment in the comment box below. Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. Now if you are new to TV Rewind it dose exactly like it wounds like. It is a Blog where we rewind the TV years and relive some of the greatest show that was ever on TV. ( You and check out some of the other TV Rewinds here). Well this week is no different. This week we are going to be taken a look back at what could be the best show that was ever on TV in the world. Only Fools and Horses. Only Fools and Horses was made by the BBC back in 1981. The show ran for 7 season spanning 22 years and then returning for christmas specials in 2014.

Only Fools and horses (for those of you who might not know about the show) follows 2 brothers Derek Del boy and Rodney Trotter, who leave in the council flats at Peckham South London with there Granddad. Del boy was always trying to make a quick book and he wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t entirely legal. One of the great saying Del Boy had in the show was “This time next year we will be million airs” and he would always have a schema in mind to try and make it a realty. While Del wants to make money quick his little brother Rodney want to do it more legally but at the end of the day he doesn’t care where the money comes from either, all the while you have Granddad in the back ground telling his war stories.

Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 16.32.00

The show is one of the most popular show the BBC has ever made and it is shown in reruns to this day. The lead actor David Jonson who played Del Boy has played other roles but he will be forever remembered for the way he played Del. Del was great but he had a great supporting cast as well in Nicholas Lyndhurst who played Del’s brother Rodney, and Lennard Pearce who played there Granddad and later on Buster Marryfield who played Uncle Albert. Buster came on the show in 1985 after Lennard Pearce passed away.

The only reason I watched this show was because my father loved the show and the only way I could stay up past bed time on a sunday night was if I was watching the show with him. but when I got older and started to understand the jokes I found out why my father loved the show so much and in turn I loved the show. You know the old saying they don’t make em like that any more, this rings true here because after the show went off the air in 2003 it came back for some christmas specials and it just didn’t work because (Spoiler Alert) when the show ended in 2003 the boys had become millionaires and it was the perfect ending to there story. When they were brought back for the specials they were put back at the very same council apartment an it was just a little bit too depressing for a christmas special but that is just the way I fell about it I could be wrong.

Did you watch Only Fools and Horses what did you think about it let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box bellow. Also you can check out last weeks TV Rewind here. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can by leaving you suggestion in the comment box. Thats it for an other week thanks for reading until next week keep on Viewing.

Hi and welcome to this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie. If this is you first time to see this post here is how it works. I figure there are two types of people on a Saturday night, the people who go out drinking and having fun and the people who stay at home  for any amount of reasons. Well this post is for the second group of people. I will suggest a film that you can watch as to make staying in on a Saturday night a little bit easier and fun.

920x920

Well this week I have picked a comedy called Paul. Paul is about two friends (Graeme played by Simon Peg, and Clive played by Nick Frost) from England who decided they want to take a road trip around the UFO heartland of America New Mexico. On there travels it doesn’t take long for the boy to run into trouble in the form of a pot smoking foul mouthed alien called Paul. Paul is on the run from the FBI because he escaped the base where he was raised because he didn’t to help the humans any more and just wanted to go home.

I was not the biggest fan of Peg are Frost’s movies Shane of the Dead was ok and Hot Fuzz was watchabil but I wasn’t running back to see it again which made me reluctant watch one of there movies again. I had to be dragged to the cinema to see this movie, but I’m glad they did make me go and see it because I loved it. It was just so funny. Paul the alien was voiced by Seth Rogen and it was perfect. Peg and Frost had struck gold with this movie.

I think the reason I like this one better then Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz was because those films were had a lot of British hummer in them as where Paul was geared towards a international audience. That is not to say that Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz are not good movies but I just didn’t enjoy them.

What do you think of Paul have you seen it before let me know by leaving a comment below. You can check out last weeks Saturday Night Stay in Movie here. If you would like to suggest a movie for next weeks Stay in movie you can leave your suggestion in the comment box. Until next time keep on Viewing.

HI everyone, each week I do a post called the Saturday Night Stay In Movie (you can check out some of the post here). These post are meant for the people that don’t go out partying on the saturday night and what I do is I suggest a movie they can watch to keep them entertained. Well I said that there are two types of people on a Saturday night and this post is aimed at the second group of people, the ones that do go out and party. This new weekly post is going to suggest a movie are a show that you can bing watch  as you try and recover from the night before.

Screen Shot 2016-05-22 at 11.47.11

So lets get started this week I am recommending a comedy show called Community staring Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, and Chevy Chase. as you can see is has a great cast of some very funny people. The premise of the show is that a lawyer (Joel McHale) finds out that his degree has being revoked and that he must go back to community collage to get his degree back. He meets a good looking girl that goes to the collage and tyres to impress her by saying he has formed a study group but he unintentionally sets up a study group and then the fun begins.

Community first aired in 2009 and ran fro six seasons fishing up in 2015 it finished up with 110 show to its credit and there is talk about a movie maybe getting made as well but we should just focus on the show for now. This sitcom is only 20 minutes which makes it perfect for bing watching. the second thing it has going for it is the fact that is just really funny and has 4 and half stars on rotten tomatoes and 5 stars on Netflix so everyone can’t be wrong. Now if you have Netflix you watch 5 seasons there but they don not have the sixth and final yet which I am ok with because I did find it to watch else where on the net and I wasn’t that impressed they should have left it with 5 seasons but that could be just me.

So there it is the first Sunday Recovery suggestion I hope ye all enjoy it and it makes the hangover a little bit better. If you would like to suggest a show are a film for next weeks Sunday Recovery you can leave you suggestion in the comment box below. Thanks for reading and until next time keep on Viewing.

The shows main cast was had some true legends staring along side Athinson, Tony Robinson, Tim McInnerny Miranda Ridhardson, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie.

Each series was set in a different historical period, with the 2 protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in oner series or another. The first series was just cladded The Black Adder and was set in 1485, at the end of the British Middle Ages. Black Adder was the son of Richard IV who is king and he keeps trying and felling to impress his father.

Blackadder was one of the BBC’s best sitcoms up there with Faulty towers (read that TV Rewind Here) and Only fools and horses. It helped launch some big careers the likes of Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. The show was the second best British sitcom in 2004. Here is a look back and some of its best bits.

Hi Viewers and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. This week we are going back to the 70’s to one of my favorite comedies of all time, Fawlty Towers. “Basil Fawlty is an inept and slightly out of his-head English hotel manager, who is tortured by “that annoying section of the general public shoe insist on staying at hotels.” Fawlty is constantly berated by his wife, and his efforts are continually hampered by their Spanish waiter, Manuel.”

Screen Shot 2015-08-20 at 09.20.10

The show was writhen by Monty Python (An other grate TV Rewind) member John Cleese and his wife Connie Booth who star in the show as Basil Fawlty and Polly the waitress respectively. Fawlty Towers first aired in September 1975 on BBC2. There was only 12 episodes made two seasons of 6. In a list drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000, voted by Industry professionals, Fawlty Towers was named the best British television series of all time.

The show was top class comedy with each episode funnier then the next, but there was some out standing episodes that have me cry with laughter every time I see them. One of them is The Builders. Basil and his wife Sybil go away for the weekend with friends and while they are away they have hired a builder to do some improvements to the hotel Sybil want to hire a local builder who is expensive but Basil hires a cheap builder and it all goes wrong for him. One of the funniest moments on TV is when Sybil comes back to find the cheap builder working in the hotel.

Over all Fawlty Towers is a show that will be making people laugh for a long time as it lives on in reruns. Hi Viewers its time for this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie. This week I have picked one of my favorite Melissa McCarthy movies, The Heat. FBI Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a long-standing reputation for excellence and arrogance. In Contrast, foul-mouthed hot tempered detective Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) goes with her gut instincts and street smarts to remove criminals from the streets of Boston. Sparks fly when these polar opposites have to work together to capture a drug lord, but in the process, they become the last thing anyone expected, buddies.

heat-gallery3-gallery-image

The Heat was released in 2013 earning over $39 million in North American in the opening weekend, it went on to gross over $159 million domestically and over $229 million world wide. There was talk about a sequel but Bullock stated that she would not be returning for it and the project was put on hold. This is one of the funniest buddy cop movies I have seen in a long time. McCarty and Bullock play zoo well off each other it makes for grate watching. Some of the rants that McCarty goes on is just gold for example when she burst into her bosses office and starts looking for is balls and when she can’t find them she shout out the door “Hey guys have any of ye seen the captains balls”. This is a grate film but needless to say it is defiantly one to want once you put the kids to bed, but both of ye will like it.

Hi Viewers Its time for an other TV Rewind. This week we are looking back at one of the best Irish and British comedies of all time Fr Ted. The reason I say Irish and British is because the show was written by two writers Artur Mathews and Graham Linehan and stared mostly Irish cast . It was offered to RTE who passed on it so the show went to English network Channel 4.

568.jpg Fr Ted

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the show It was about 3 priest who were exiled to Craggy Island, a remote location off the west cost of Ireland. It stared Dermot Morgan as the main character Fr Ted Crilly who live at the parochial house with 2 other priest and a house keeper, Fr Dougal McGuire played by Ardal O’hanlon, Fr Jack Hackett played by Frank Kelly, and Mrs Doyle played by Pauline McLynn.

The show ran from April 1995 to May 1998 which included 3 seasons and a christmas special. The show ended on a sad note as 24 hours after they finished shooting the third season Dermot Morgan passed away suddenly. Show has left quite a legacy behind. The house used for the exterior shots has become a tourist attraction, whit hundreds of people visiting it each year. In January 2007 a dispute arouse between Inis Oirr and Inis Mor over which Island can claim to be Craggy Island and thereby host a three-day Friends of Ted Festival. It was decided that the dispute would be styled by a five-a-side football match held on 25th February 2007 which Inis Mor won 2-0 allowing them to use the title of Craggy Island until February 2008 while Inis Oirr was given the title Rugged Island.

Let me know what you taught of Fr Ted by leaving a comment below. You can check out last weeks TV Review here. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind just leave you suggestion in the comment box.  See you all next week of an other TV Rewind

This weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie is the cult classic Clerks. the story is about Dante who is called into work on his day off to cover his shift at a New Jersey convenience store. His Friend Randal  helps him pass the time, neglecting his video-store customers next door to hang out in the quick stop. The uneventful day is disrupted by the news that one of Dante’s ex-girlfriends has died. After attending her memorial service,  Dante muses over staying with current girlfriend Veronica or reuniting with ex Caitlin.

Screen Shot 2015-06-19 at 08.49.58

This films is written and directed by one of my favourite director Kevin Smith. the film stars Jeff Anderson as Randal who is brilliant in this film and works very well as the poller opasit to Brian O’Halloran’s Dante. Also staring is Marilyn Ghigliotti as Veronica, Lisa Spoonhauer as Caitlin.Kevin Smith stars as Silent Bob, as the side kick to the foul mouthed Jay played by Jason Mewes. The movie had a small budget of just $27,575, and was shot in the convenience and video stores where kevin smith worked in real life. Clerks went on to gross over $3 million in the box office and launched the career of Kevin Smith. There has been a sequel all ready Clerks 2 with plans to have a Clerks 3.

One of the reasons I love this film is because it show you don’t need millions to make a good movie all you need is the want to get it done, a good script and grate actors to bring the script to life and I think that is what clerks had as well as a good director. Don’t take my word for it check it out yourself and let me know what you taught. This film has strong language and adult themes throughout so parental guidance is advised
