Last night was the first time in a long time that I got to go to the cinema to watch a a movie. I missed a lot of good movies so let me know what ones I should try and catch up on.

The movie I went to see was Doctor Strange now I was not looking forward to this movie what so ever. I hadn’t read any of the comics, all I knew about the film was that is was about sorcerers (I don’t know if that is the right word never mind if I spelt it correctly or not) So why did I go and see it I hear you asking and the answer is simple. I didn’t want to see Guardians of the Galaxy either because it have a talking racoon that love guns in the movie, but I went to see it anyways and the I loved the movie and the talking racoon that loved guns turned out to be the best part of the movie.

So what Im trying to say is that Marvel have a way of turning the ridicules into something everyone can enjoy, so yes I gave them the benefit of the doubt. As I was watching the first scene I was thinking o god what did I let myself in for. It looked like a cross between Inception and the Green Lantern.

So I settled in for the long haul. All I could do was think of bad things to say about the movie like Cumberbatch charter was a dick and how was he ever going to make a joke. (Marvel movies success comes partly from the humor in there movies) As the movie went on and it started to explain the world that it was set in I started to enjoy the movie. The fight scenes where very good and special effects were top class and with Cumberbatch playing the lead role I knew that Marvel had an other hit on there hands.

The rest of the world must think so as well because the world wide takings for Doctor Strange is nearly $500 million. Doctor Streang is a very good addition to the Marvel Universe and it will be interesting to see him interact with all the other heroes. we got a sneak peek of how an encounter would go at the end of the titles as Doctor Strange has a chat with Thor and the results are great. The little sneak peek also hint that we will see Doctor Strange in Thor: Ragnarok which is due out in 2017

Over all I loved this movie and would highly recommend it to any marvel fans and even if you not a marvel and have never seen any of their 13 movies beforehand don’t worry you will still be able to fellow along. Have you seen Doctor Strange yet if you have let me know what you taught about it but leaving a comment int he comment box below. You can also check out our last post here. Thanks for reading until next time keep on viewing.

Hi and welcome to this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie (S.N.S.I.M). For those of you that don’t know what the S.N.S.I.M is I will tell you.

On a Saturday night there are two groups of people. The first group are the ones that go out and party with their friends are just go out for dinner with their partners. The second group of people are the ones that stay in on a Saturday night for what ever reason. Well I write this blog of the second group of people.

I chose a movie that you can watch to pass the time. This week is no different.

This week I am going with a classic family favourite, Shrek.

It has been over 15 years since the release of Shrek in cinemas, and everyone fell in love with Donkey and Sherk and Fiona. I don’t think there is many people out there that hasn’t seen Shrek but just in case here is the ruff outline of the story.

Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 16.32.22

Shrek is an ogre that live in a swamp and he loves how quite it is until the swamp get over run by fairy tails that have got kicked out of the nearby by Lord Fraquaad. To save his home and Shrek makes a deal with Fraquaad to rescue Princess Fiona who is trapped in a tower protected by a dragon. Shrek sets on his quest to save Fiona and he has unlikely sidekick for his mission, a talking Donkey.

Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 16.27.01

This is the sort of movie that the whole family can sit down and enjoy together. Mike Myers voices Shrek with Eddy Murphy as Donkey and Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona. As I said the movie is great but it also has a brilliant sound track as well, so you will be laughing and tapping you foot along to the songs.

The first Shrek movie took in over 480 million at the world wide box office which made sure that there was going to be more Shrek movies and there was. There was four more movies and a spin off movie in Puss in Boots.

I think this is one of my favourite animated movies of the 2000s. It s funny both kids and adults can enjoy it over all its a great family movie to sit down and watch on a saturday night.

If you have seen Shrek before let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment in the comment box  below. If you would like to suggest a movie for next weeks S.N.S.I.M you can leave your suggestion in the comment box. You can also check out last weeks S.N.S.I.M HERE. Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind for those of you who might not have heard of TV Rewind before its simple. We take a look back at all the show that have come and gone over the years that we might have forgotten. This week is going to be no different.

This week on TV Rewind we are going to be taking a look back at Sister Sister.

The show was about twin sisters who were separated at birth and adopted by two separate parents. One sister was adopted by a single mother and the other sister was adopted by a couple but soon after the adoption the mother died.

Fourteen years later they find each other and hatch a plan to get back together. Their plan works and they all move in together. which only leads to friction between the two parents who have different views on how to raise there child.

Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 09.27.03

Lisa is mother to Tia a intelligent girl who lives in the inner city Detroit while Tamera is a bit more of a free sprite who lives with her father, Ray in the suburbs.

When the twins get to live together they start making up for lost time as been sisters.

My sister used to watch this show when she was younger and I have to admit I like watching it as well, but the alternative was doing  my homework so I would have watched the grass grow apposed to doing my homework.

In saying that the show was funny. The contrast between Tia (the Smart one) and Tamera (the not so smart one) was very entertaining. while the contrast of Lias (the laid back mother) and Ray (the hard working father) was just as funny and don’t forget about Rodger the boy next door that is in love with the girls and keeps getting shot down as he tries to get one of the girls to go on a date with him.

Screen Shot 2016-08-25 at 09.29.30

This was an entertaining show that lasted for six seasons spanning 119 episodes. It first aired in 1994 and aired its last episode in 1999.

Do you remember Sister, Sister? If you do let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment on the comment box below. Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. If you are new to TV Rewind it is simple we take a look back at all the shows that we used to watch when we were kids 80’s 90’s. We have gone through a lot of shows since we have started doing TV Rewind but don’t worry there is still a lot more shows out there. This week we are taking a look back at Sabrina The Teenage Witch. I think most people I knew watched this show but some wouldn’t admit it because they were too cool to watch it. I didn’t really give a dame I watched it.

The show was about a teenage girl who is sent to live with her ants, who tell her that she is a witch and that she will have to learn how to control her powers and figure out the family secret if she is to become a full licensed witch. O and I forgot to tell ye about there talking cat who was a witch that broke the rules of the witches council and as punishment got turned into a cat for the rest of his long long life. It was a comedy show that went for cheap laughs (which worked) and had a leading lady that a lot of people had a crush on (including me) so the show worked on a few levels.

Screen Shot 2016-07-14 at 12.26.03

The show came from the comic book Archie. It aired for the first time in 1996, to over 17 million people, and ran for 7 seasons (the first 3 4 on ABC and the last 3 on The WB). The first four seasons dealt with Sabrina in high school and dealing with her powers and and everyday life and the last 3 seasons dealt with Sabrina in collage and hiding her powers from her room mates and work mates. By the time the third season had started I had growing out of the show and lost interest in it so I can’t really say what the later seasons were like but judging by the drop in ratings it must not have being any good.

Screen Shot 2016-07-14 at 12.28.09

The show finished in 2003 with ratings of only 3 million a big drop from the first show and its 17 million. Do you remember Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, What did you think of the show? Did you watch all 7 seasons? let me know by leaving a comment below in the comment box. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind just leave you suggestion below. For those of you that might not be formula with TV Rewind its really quite simple, I take a look at some the shows that have gone off the air but that we still remember for how good they were. You can check out our other TV Rewinds here. This week Im going with a BBC show called Yes Minster and then later on it was called Yes Prime Minster. My father used to watch it the whole time. I must put my hands up and say that I didn’t watch this when I was young, it was a few years ago when I started watching it as the reruns were being show on Gold that I realised how fecking funny it acutely was.

Yes Minster fellows the political career of Minster for Department of Administrative Affairs Jim Hacker (Paul Eddington) and his advisers, his private Secretary Bernard Woolley (Derek Fowlds) and Permanent Secretary Humphrey Appleby (Nigel Hawthorne) Minster Hacker was keen to bring about changes to the Civil Service but would be fought every step of the way the Sir Humphrey. Humphrey would do it in such a way that he would confuses the Minster and have hime thinking that not changing the Civil Serves was his own idea. Yes Minster ran for four years 1980-1984 that is when they made a sequel called yes Prime Minster which continued much like Yes minster but now with Minster Hacker as the Prime Minster and Humphrey still fighting for what is best for the Civil Serves.

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 10.17.13

One of my favourite episodes is where Humphrey has to try and convince the Prime Minister that a fully staffed hospital that isn’t taking in any patients is best for the patients. As you can imagine at this stage the Minster is easily lead (polite way of calling him dumb) and Humphrey’s a fast talking Civil Servant who will do anything to make sure the civil servants of England do as little work as possible and get paid as much as possible as well. I think the main reason that Yes Minster became so popular was because of the fast talking Humphrey. He defiantly stole the show, but he wouldn’t have looked so good without have the slithy stupid and very easily lead Minster Hacker to play off the two were perfect together.

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 10.15.22

Yes Minster was made during the golden age of British comedy and found itself up against some of the funniest comedy ever made, Faulty Towers, Monty Python, Only Fools and horses to say but a few, and just like these other great shows it has stood the test of time and  still has a big Following today. Yes Minster is seen as the sixth best British comedy ever made.

Have you ever watched Yes Minster let me know if you have by leaving a comment in the comment box below. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can by leaving you suggestion in the comment box. You can also check out last weeks TV Rewind here. Hi and welcome to this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie. For the first time visitors to SNSIM it quite simple, there are two types of people on a Saturday night the ones that go out partying and the the ones that stay in, well this blog is for the second group of people. The people who for whatever reason don’t go out on a Saturday night. I give you a recommendation of a movie that you could watch to pass the time and enjoy for the fraction of the money that the people going out will spend.

This week we are going with an adult only movie for make sure the kids are tucked up in bed before you put this one in the DVD/Blu Ray player. It is Kickass. Kickass is based on a comic book, he is a hero but not like the rest of them. The plot of the  movie goes like this A young teenager who reads comic books decides it looks cool to be a hero so he gets a costume and tries to stop crime. His first outing does not go so well for him as he gets stabbed and then run over by a car, (don’t mess around with that crap it is dangerous) so he breaks nearly every bone in his body and damages his nerve endings so he does feel any pain. once he is recovered he decides to go at it agin (what a stupid idea but leads to some funny stuff) and ends up fighting of 3 gang bangers and it is all caught on camera and he becomes a big deal. This new found fame brings on a whole new load of problems and yet again it leads to some funny stuff.

Screen Shot 2016-06-22 at 15.21.04

Kick ass was first released back in 2010 and became a hit with the critics and movie goers alike. Kickass had a lot of unknown actors in it and one or two pretty big stars in the form of Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Supper Bad) and Nicolas Cage (Face Off). There was also two reactively new comes to the movies in Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Both stars have gone on to bigger roles and now considered some of Hollywood’s stars to watch. The combinations of Johns,Moretz and Cage was great they played so well together but Moretz stole the show as hit girl the 11 year old foul mouthed hero who would rather kill you with her knives then play with dolls.

Over all it is a great movie and I highly recommend it you are staying in this weekend. It is full of laughs and action. If you liked Deadpool there is a good chance that you will like Kickass too. Have you seen Kickass before, let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box below. If you haven’t read our Sunday Recovery before let me take to tell you about it. At the weekend there are 2 types of people the people who go out on a Saturday night and the ones that don’t go out. So each week I write a blog for the people that stay in on a Saturday night and call it the Saturday Night Stay In Movie, it is what it sounds like, I make a suggestion of a movie to watch, to the people staying in. Well then it was only fare that I do a blog for the people that do go out on a Saturday night and I called it the Sunday Recovery (check out some of the Sunday Recovery Here.) The Sunday Recovery is where I suggest a show to bing on generally it Is going to be on Sky or Netflix and you can spend all day watching it and forgetting about the hang over you are suffering through.

So with that in mind this weeks Sunday Recovery is How I Met Your Mother. Most of you will have heard of How I Met Your Mother, but there might be a small percentage of you who haven’t so I will give you a run down of what it is about. It is set in the future with a father telling his kids about how he met there mother, so the whole show is done in flash backs. There are 5 friends Ted, Marsha, Branny, Lilly, and Robin living in New York and trying to navigate life while trying to find some go throw life with. The show is very funny and the situations they find themselves in makes for good TV.

Screen Shot 2016-06-18 at 19.36.55

My favourite is Branny he Is a womaniser that fails more then he scores and watching the scams he comes up with to try and get women to sleep in as funny as they are scary. I will have to warn you the first 5 seasons are very good but form the sixth season on it is hit and miss but you are already drawing into the show so you can’t stop watching at that stage, so if you do start watching it be prepared to go the whole 9 seasons, you have been warned.

Have you already watched How I Met You Mother let me know what you taught about the show by leaving a comment in the comment box below. You can also check out other last weeks Sunday Recovery here. You might not have read this before so let me fill you in on this weekly post. The way I look at it there are 2 types of people on a Saturday night and they are the people that go out and party and then you have the people who do not go out and party. Now there is nothing wrong with staying in on a Saturday night you might have to because you have kids and a wife are you have no money, I could go on but I won’t. I write this post each week for the people how don’t go and party. I give you a suggestion of a movie to watch each weekend. (you can check out some of the past movies here)

So each week I choose a movie at random some time it can be family movies other time it will be movies just for the grown ups. Well this week I have gone with a classic movies that the whole family can enjoy. This week I have picked the Jim Carrey classic Liar Liar. So  the film stars Jim Carrey as a lawyer who can’t stop laying. He is also a husband and father who has to end up disappointing his son one to many time. So when he misses his sons birthday because of work he son makes a wish that his father won’t be able to tell an other lie. This leads to some very funny moments of the movie.

Screen Shot 2016-06-10 at 12.28.26

This is a classic Carrey movie, he is brilliant in it. His animated way of acting was perfect for this part. I know I am sounding a bit busiest to this movie but if was one of my favourite when I was growing up. That doesn’t mean it is not a good movie it has a 81% popularity rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I really enjoy this movie and can’t wait to watch it again. If you have seen it before let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment in the comment box. you can also check out last weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie Here. It is that time of the week again, it is time for TV Rewind. If this is you first time reading TV Rewind it is pretty simple, it is where we take a look back at the great TV shows that have come and gone. (you can check out some of the last few TV Rewinds here). This week we are looking back at a show that ran for 8 years in the 90’s. It is Tim Allen’s Home Improvement. The first episode aired in September of 1991 it got 8 seasons and over 200 episodes, and was a big part of  everyones evening.

Home Improvement was a show about a family man that had a DIY show on a small local TV station. He is not very good at his job and people tune in to see how he is going to mess up on any given day. He has a co host Al Borland and a Tool Time Girl who was first played by Pamela Anderson and then Debbe Dunning. Tool Time was a big part of Home Improvement. while the other big component of the show was how this mans man (who messed up the whole time) dealt with family life and raising 3 boy while helping a wife try and find here way in the world as well.

Screen Shot 2016-06-08 at 10.29.58Screen Shot 2016-06-08 at 10.30.13

The Show used to shown around half 6 In Ireland but I can’t remember what channel (If you can remember let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box below). The show was popular with kids and adults as there was a mixture of humour. There was a lot of physical comedy   for the kids but as he dealt with his family the humour would be more mature. As the show moved on through the years and with the kids growing up the show also dealt with stores about what kids would be going through and how the family dealt with it.

The show was a huge hit for the studio who wanted to make a movie from it with the storyline that Tim and Jill would get divorced and Tim would dress up as a old nanny to see his kids, but Allen didn’t like the idea so it was scraped but the studio kept the idea and it would later be made in to Mrs Doubtfire which went on to be a huge susses.

Over all it was a great show that you could sit down and watch with your kids today. It is a funny show that was built around a loving family. I would love if there was some place showing reruns. Did you watch Home Improvement, let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment below. You Can check out last weeks TV Rewind here. Hi Viewers it is a bit late but here it is, its time for TV Rewind if you are new to Viewit and haven’t heard of of TV Rewind before it is very simple we take a look back at TV shows that have gone off the air for the last few years. You can check out other TV Rewinds from the past year and a half, here. This weeks we are taking a look back at a show that I loved when I was younger.

Screen Shot 2016-06-03 at 12.16.00

Its the Animaniacs. The Animaniacs was a variety show hosted by the Waner brothers Yako, Wako and there sister Dot as you can see for the intro above. The show was full of pop culture slap stick comedy. There was many charters in the show as it was set on the lot of Warner Brothers lot. The 3 siblings would escape there home in the Warner Brothers water tower and make as much trouble as they could. The Animaniacs was the show that fallowed on form Tiny Toon Adventure. The thing that made Animaniacs popular was that the writers wrote comedy for the parents as well as the kids so the parents could sit down and watch the show as well and not be board or think about the dirty dishes that need washing. The way they did this was through parodies of films and shows for example one recurring segment was called Goodfeather which was a reference to the crime moves Goodfells and Godfather.

I was six years old when Animaniacs first aired and I love it because I had watched Tiny Toons as well. I remember watching the Warner kids running around the place having fun and just make as much trouble as possible (I grew up in the country so I had plenty of chance to get myself into trouble). The Aninmanincs also made fun of other companies and there shows like Disney and its films and they also made fun of the Power Rangers which was a competing show. What I didn’t know about the show was that Steven Spielberg was the executive producer on the show.

It is the sort of show that you could watch today and enjoy still. It was in the middle of the 90’s which was the golden age of Warner Brother animation with show like Pinky and the Brain, Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, and Taz-Mania. What did you think of Animaniacs let me by leaving a comment bellow. You can check out last weeks TV Rewind Here.
