Hi Everyone and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. This is our 35th TV Rewind since we got started over a year and a half ago, but If you haven’t seen it yet this is what it is about. TV Rewind is where we take a look back at some of the shows that we used to watch when we were younger. Shows for the 80’s and 90’s mainly but we have gone back to the 70’s once or twice.

This week we are going to 90’s, too show that launched one of the biggest movies stars in the world George Clooney. Thats right, this weeks TV Rewind is ER. ER first aired in 1994 and ran for 15 season ending in 2009, making it one of the longest running TV dramas in US TV history. It had over 330 episodes and countless awards and huge ratings. ER was set in the fictional hospital of County General in Chicago. It followed the life of the staff of the Emergence room as they dealt with the none stop nature of the job and all the problems that came with it. The original cast was George Clooney, Anthony Edwards, Sherry Stringfield, Noah Wyle, Eriq La Salle, and Julianna Marfulies.

One of the things that people loved about the show was the characters the medicine was a big part of the show but it was mainly about how these people dealt with there pirate lives and how the hospital got in the way of there private lives. the writing was great and the story lines were second to none. At times it was a bit hard to fellow what was happing but people stuck with it. Critics and viewers alike love the show (it would explain how it got 15  seasons)  At the hight of its popularity upwards of 30 million people were tuning in each week to see what the next episode had in store for the doctors at County General.

I must confess I never did get past the 9th season I kept losing interest but it is one of those show that I want to watch form start to finsh and I will do it some day. did you watch ER when it was on if you did let me know what you taught about it and who was your favourite character. If you would like to suggest a Show for TV rewind all you have to do is leave your suggestion in the comment box below. You can also cheek out last weeks TV Rewind Here. Now You See Me 2 Review

Last night I went to see Now You See Me 2. To tell you the truth I was worried about this movie because I really liked the first one It was a great movie with great actors playing well off each other, but it felt like it was a one and done movie. It was also getting mixed reviews (it was released in the states for weeks ago and it was only released in Ireland last night). The last thing that had me worried was an other sequel of a movie that I really liked, was released  last week and it sucked (Independence Day Resurgence). So I went in to this movie a bit hesitant.

The plot is the Four Horsemen are back to expose more people who are doing something unethical, using there magic tricks to help them do it. This time it is the Horsemen that was on the back foot as they came up against there new enemy played by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) He kidnaps the Horsemen and asks them to steal something for him. While all this is going on Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman) and Dylan (Mark Ruffalo) team up to try and find them.

I told you at the start that I was worried about this movie I am glad to say that I had nothing to worry about. One of the many things that I liked about it was how they mixed the action, drama, and comedy all together. It was very entertaining and everyone for the first movie has returned for the sequel with the exception of Isla Fisher who played Hanley in the first movie. She was replaced by Lizzy Caplan. I taught at first that Lizzy Caplan’s character was trying to hard to be liked but I suppose it worked because by the end of the movie she had grown into a member of the group. Woddy Harrelson was solid again as Merritt, but he was out shined by Woody Harrelson playing Chase Mckinney. Chase was a good addition to the film as he was able to get under the skin of his brother Merritt. Dave Franco had a bigger part in this movie as in the last movie he was very much the young magician looking up to the older more experienced magicians, and he nailed it.

There was so much to like about this movie and unlike the Independence Day Sequel you could see that the film makers cared about what they were putting on the screen as well as the actors, who most of which were in the first movie. over all it was a great movie that keeps you thinking throughout the movie and just as you think you know what is going to happen you realise you haven’t a clue. I would recommend this movie as a date night movie. If you have seen it let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment in the comment box below. You can also check out some of the other movie reviews I have done here. Until next time keep on Viewing.

With over 400 scripted show on TV these day it is understandable that networks are looking out for new ways to launch into this competitive and very clustered market. So it would be easier to launch something that has a big fan base all ready. That is why networks are relaunching a lot of shows like Prison Brake, Heroes Reborn, and rumor has it that Fresh Prince of Bel Air are all get a chance to come back, and so is this early 2000’s classic Training Day.

Screen Shot 2015-08-17 at 19.54.40

It’s been announced that a show based on the movie could be on its way to the small screen. US network CBS have ordered a pilot based on the 2001 film staring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The series will be set in the present day and Antoin Fuqua, who directed the original film, is taking charge of the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pilot was apparently written by former LAPD detective Will Beall, who will also act as executive producer alongside Antoine, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. It is not know weather Denzel or Ethan, who recently announced that they will reunite for ne movie The Magnificent Seven, will make an appearance in the follow up.

There are a few things in the world that grabs the peoples attention for prolonged periods of time, music, sports and movies. So what happens when you put all of these things together, you get one of the biggest genre of film the sports movie.

There has been some grate sports movies made over the years, all the Rocky’s, The Longest years and Happy Gilmore covering boxing American Football and Golf.

So here is my top five sports movies

5. Warrior. Some people have said that this is the Rocky of mixed martial arts, with some of the best fight scenes around. Like any good sports movie the thing that makes it good is the back story with the sports as only a small part of the film. This is a story about an army vet return to his alcoholic father who ripped his family apart with his drinking, to lie low for a few days. He joins a gym and ends up beating a world contender for the middle weight title which gets him into the biggest martial arts tournament in the world and he get his father to train him. Then you have is brother who was a mma fighter but quit after getting badly beating in his last fight. He makes a come back to raise money to stop the bank from foreclosing on his house.

4. Invictus. with Morgan freeman as Nelson Mandela, Matt Damon as South African captain Francois Pienaar, and  Clint Eastwood as the director this film could not fail. This is the true story about South Africa won the rugby world cup and how this team brought a nation together after years being torn by apartheid.

3. Coach Carter. This is an about coach Ken Carter the head coach of Richmond High’s Basketball team and his struggle to try and better his teams life by instilling discipline and had work so the can stay away from gangs and get good jobs and become successful in life outside of basketball. With Samuel L. Jackson as Ken Carter it is a grate watch.

2. Remember the Titans. This is the true story of a high school football team that have to deal with the end of segregation and a new African-American head coach as well. with Denzel Washington as head coach Herman Boone and Will Patton as assistant coach Bill Yoast, there are grate performance to make a grate movie

1.The Blind side. The story line is about Michael Oher an offensive lineman a who played for the Baltimore Ravens. The film show Oher’s poor upbringing to his adoption by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy and how they help him with his grades and his football to become one of the most sought after prospects in college football.  There was some standout performance with Sandra Bullock as Leigh Anne Tuohy who won 6 best Actress awards including an Oscar. Also Quinton Aaron as Michael Big Mike Oher did a grate job with his carter

If there is any movies you think should be in the list let me know
