On Friday night I got the chance to go and see the most highly anticipated movie of the summer Suicide Squad. It had already had its world premiere a few days before that. The reviews were out and it didn’t look good. Matter of fact it was nearly as badly reviewed as Batman VS Superman, and we all know how that ended up.

I chose to ignore all the reviews and go into the movie with an open mind, mainly because the first trailer I seen was so damn good. You know the one Im on about, it was the second trailer for Suicide Squad with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It was one of the best trailers i have ever seen for a movie.

On the back of that I wasn’t going to let a few bad reviews stop me from enjoying this movie.

I would like to point out that Suicide Squad is indeed better then Batman vs Superman (that wouldn’t be hard), but it is still a movie that I didn’t enjoy.

First of all the first half of the movie seems to be one big long music video as they are introducing the characters they have song after song, which is ok to a certain point, but when you get to the stage when your sound track is better then your movie you know you have done something wrong. I think they had such success with the trailer they tried to brig as much as that into the movie as possible, but less is more in some ceases.

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 16.29.03

Next thing I didn’t like about the movie was Jared Leto’s Joker I seen what he was trying to do by been even crazier then Heath Ledger’s Joker in the Dark Knight. There was two problems with that first of all Heat Ledger played the perfect Joker in that movie and no one will ever be able to top that performance. Second was that Leto’s Joker seemed to be angry the whole time and that was why he was crazy where I think the Joker did all the evil stuff cause he enjoyed doing it and that is what makes the Joker crazy but that could be just me. Let me know what you think.

The next thing that I didn’t like about the movie was the bad guys. In the comics the Suicide Squad was fighting for the good side because they had a chip in their heads that would explode if they didn’t. In the movie this is the same way but the Squad also want to risk their lives for the greater good and that doesn’t sound like something the worst of the worst would do. The Squad are trying to atone for their actions it felt like.

Also the people that are controlling them are meant to be good guys (how good can they be if they stick a bomb in someones head so they will do as they are told) but throughout the movie you see the good guys are as evil or more so then the villains. I would of enjoyed the movie more if you had the Squad fighting their captures as well as the big bad but again that is just me.

This was the first time that Will Smith was to play a bad guy. I don’t think he did played a bad guy, he played a guy who wants to change for his daughter but in the comics he has a death wish and that is why he said he would join the team this would drastically change the way Deadshot should be played I think.I do think that Margot Robbie played Harley Quinn as the girls who was driven mad by the Joker and wants to get back to here love. I think that she stole the show from Will Smith.

Star Trek Beyond Review

I was ment to do this last week but I just didn’t get around to it so here we go, it’s the Star Trek Beyond Review.

First of all I would like to say that I am not a big Star Trek fan.

I have seen a few of the older movies but never watch the shows. In saying that I am really enjoying relaunch of the franchise. I taught the first movie was great. It looked great, it was well acted and it had a good flow to it. I also seen the second movie Star Trek Into The Darkness, which wasn’t as good as the first movie but still watch-a-bill.

That brings us to the latest instalment, Star Trek Beyond. First of all when I seen the trailer I taught this would be the end of the franchise. To me the Enterprise was as much as a character of the movies as the actors themselves, and as you seen from the trailers the Enterprise doesn’t last long in this movie at all.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.33.05

That was just the trailers and Im here to talk about the movie. First of all it starts off with a traditional captains log where captain Kirk lets us know what the crew has been up to since the last movie. They are 900 days into a 5 year journey and Kirk and the crew are feeling the strain of prolonged missions in space. Kirk is questioning his position as captain of the Enterprise and even looks into leaving and taken up a post on a deep space port.

Don’t worry lades and gentleman he has to go on one last mission before he can leave. His mission was to save the crew of a ship stranded on a planet. He embarks on a what should be a simple rescue mission. When they get to the planet they quickly find out it is no ordinary mission. The ship is attacked and crashes to the planets surface after the crew is captured, Kirk and few others manage to escape and start to plan on how to save their crew members.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.34.01

That is all of the plot I am going to give away I don’t want to ruin the movie for you. I enjoyed this movie a lot one of the main things I noticed was the fact that this is the first movie in the new series that moved away for the old movies and started to tell its own stories. The story is told at a fast pace you will not fell like over 2 hours has passed.

There was a lot of character development in the movie and not just with Captain Kirk. The likes of Scoty and Bones got a lot more screen time this movie which I enjoyed as I like there characters and the way they interacted. There relationship is a really looked at throughout the movie. I think the fact that they got more screen time is down to Sean Pegg taking over the writing of the movie. I think he did a great job with it.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 14.34.17

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It did fell like it was a stepping stone for more stories to be told away for the original movies, which I am happy about because the old movies were good but it is time for new stories, what do you think, let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box below. Over all I would recommend this movie to and Sci-Fi fans and any Star Trek fans you will enjoy the ride. Let me know what you taught about the movie by leaving a comment below.

Central Intelligence Review
Box Office Comedy New Release Review

Screen Shot 2016-06-21 at 09.59.52

Hi everyone I went to see Central Intelligence a few weeks ago but I forgot to write up the review about it (that might give you some indication on how this review is going to go). First of all the rock is one of the biggest action stars on the plant at the moment and Kevin Heart is one of the funniest comedians on the plant at the moment so it wold make sense to put them in a movie together and see what happens. well what happened was they took a ordinary script and turned it in big summer hit, pulling in over $150 million at the world wide box office, not a bad days work for the boys.

Here is the plot Kevin Heart plays Clavin Joyner who was good at everything in high school and was voted most likely to succeed and he went on to marry his high school girlfriend and become an accountant but Clavin always felt like he was destined for greater things and has become annoyed with his life. The Rock plays Bob who was the over weight kid in high school who didn’t have any friends and was bullied by the popular kids which all came to a head when he was throwing naked into the gym in front of the whole school. Well he turned his life around and lost all the weight and became an CIA agent. After 20 years Bob get in contact with Clavin and get him to help him with a case he is working and that is when things start to go wrong.

Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 12.57.28

At the start of the movie I didn’t think the Rock and Heart played well off each other but as the movie progressed it felt more natural. I think if any other two actors were cast in this movie it would have been a disaster, because the story line felt like it has being done before which it has been by every other buddy movie ever made all you have to do is look back at Kevin Heart in Ride A Long 1 and 2 which again they were funny to watch but just the once and I wouldn’t have being to mad if I didn’t see them.

Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 12.57.11

Now I could have been a bit harsh on this but just because you have some big names in a movie doesn’t mean you have an instant hit on your hands, you still need to work on a good script develop some of the supporting characters around the stars and so on but that could be just me. Let me know what you taught about Central Intelligence by leaving a comment in the comment box below. Thanks for reading, until next time keep on Viewing.

Independence Day Resurgence Review

Ok so as most of you might have noticed I give most movies mostly positive reviews mainly because I like it but some times I don’t like them and I try really hard to find some good points about the movie because I would hate if something I said stopped you form seeing a movie. This is something that I will not be doing wight this review of Independence Day Resurgence.

First of all the plot of the movie the Alines are come back (yet everyone is surprised) the Alines have more fire Power then the humans and all looks lots, ok well this is a waste of time if you have seen the first movies (which I still enjoy today) then you will have seen the second movies as they didn’t try very hard to change the story line at all they just got more money to make the movie. Right so you have the plot now time for the review.

Screen Shot 2016-07-02 at 17.19.13

First of all not getting Will Smith back was a big mistake. Now I have heard it was down to scheduling issues but I have also heard it was down to not being able to afford him. If it was me making that movie I would have cut back on the special affects to cover his bill, but instead they broke up his sense of humer, his smoothness, and general presence into 3 different characters and it did not work. Second of all I have made a few short movies and one thing that I have noticed is that I get really attached to them and I want to make them as good looking as possible I put everything that I have into them ( now it doesn’t always work out but at least I tried), well I did get the felling that the director put any love into this movie it was simple, it was a money making exercise for both the director and the studio. made even more apparent with the way being cleared for more Independence Day Movies to be made.

Screen Shot 2016-07-02 at 17.19.26

I could go on and on bashing this movie but my Granny always said if you haven’t anything nice to say don’t say anything at all (but i think she would even say that this movie sucked). I’m sorry if this review makes anyone made but I am made because I was looking forward to this movie and I was let down. Let me know what you taught about the movie by leaving comment below in the comment box. Thanks for reading until next time Keep on Viewing.

Money Monster Review
Blog New Release Review Thriller

June 23, 2016
Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.05

This week we are taking a look at Money Monster staring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell, and it was directed by Jodie Foster. The first thing that came to mind about this film was (wow it is a great cast) the next thing that came to mind was (wow she is a great director), the next thing to come to mind was (its a good story line), and the last thing that came to mind was I have to see this movie. Well that is what I did.

First of all as I watched the first 5 minutes all I could think was bloody hell George Clooney is such a dick in this, I found this weird as I have only really seen him as the smooth talking nice gym even when he was playing a thief in oceans 11 you could not but love him (wow this is sounding like a love letter to George Clooney, but I am getting to a point so stay with me) but to see him jumping around on stage like a fool was a bit tuff to watch, but as the film goes on you can see why it was played like that, and it worked.

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.41

I better give you a quick rundown of the story line. George Clooney plays Lee Gates the host of a financial advise/entertainment show that tell you what stock to buy and why, but he does this with back up dancers costumes and stupid catch phrases like “have some balls”. Underneath it all he is a looney man that claims that he has never eating dinner alone since the 90’s. Then you Julia Roberts who plays Patty Fenn who is the director of the show and tries to keep Lee on a short leash but it is a tuff job as he doesn’t want to listen to her the whole time which leads to Patty taking a job at an other station. One of the stock tips that was given on a pass show has bombed and a lot of people lost a lot of money, entry Jack O’Connell’s character Kyle Budwell who lost 60k in the bad stock tip and he want to know why so he goes into the studio during a live show and hold the place up with a gun and a bomb until he gets some answers.

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.24

As I said at the start It was tuff to watch Clooney that Lee at the start of the movie but I think this was well set up by Forster because she made you think wow this guy is a very annoying but as the movie goes on you can see his character start to change and grow, and start thinking about someone other then himself. The transition is subtle but fast at the same time and also helped along by Roberts character Patty. Now I could be wrong in this but that is the beauty of movies you can take whatever you want out of them and if it makes sense to you then nothing else maters

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 12.01.58

I taught the cast was great in this movie with Clooney and Roberts work well together like they always do. This time with the added bounce of having up and coming star Jack O’Connell there as well. O’Connell gave a great performance as the hostage taker. They all gave great performances that was brought out by the director Jodie Foster. She paced the film well and brought the best out of her actors. Hi Everyone I hope you all are keeping well. I have written quite a few movie reviews in the one and half a year of viewit’s life, and it has being pointed out by a few people that have only being reviewing action movies and comedies and so on or as one viewer has called them, Boys movies. With that in mind I went tot he cinema last week and I got to the counter and the girl asked me if I wanted tickets to the Teenage Mutant Turtles 2 and the look of shock on her face was quite funny when I said no I will be going to see Me Before You tonight. Once the shock wore off I got my tickets and went to my seat expecting the worse and things were made worse when I found out the movies was 1 hour 50 minutes long.

Now that the ordeal was over, I am shocked to say that I actually enjoyed the film. Let me give you the back ground of the movie first. It is based on the best selling novel of the same name. One of the main characters is William Traynor  (Sam Clafin from the Hunger Games) who is a son of a rich family and he has a high powered job and beautiful girlfriend but all that changes when he is knocked down by a motor bike and he is paralysed from the chest down. HIs parents bring him home to take care of him. Thats where Louisa Clark,(Emilia Clark Game of Thrones) comes in. she is hired by the rich family to be a care giver to there son.

Screen Shot 2016-06-20 at 19.47.27

That is the general outlay to the film I can’t really say to much more without giving away the movie, so I will just go onto what I taught of it. First of all I was surprised cause I didn’t hate it. First of all I taught Emilia Clark was very good in this film. I liked here a lot better then her last non Game of Thrones project (Terminator Salivation). She played a bubbly slightly clutsey girl that has to try and find a way through to William’s angry at life character. I taught that Clark and Clafin played well together and gave an over all good performance to make for an enjoyable movie. There was some humour in there as well so its not full on drama for the whole film.

Screen Shot 2016-06-20 at 19.47.08

Over all Im glad that I went to see this movie it was entertaining I would recommend this movie for a date night (sorry lads but you might enjoy it) . I want to say thank you the people giving me crap about the type of movies that I was reviewing cause I would not have gone to see this other wise. I will also keep an open mind on the type of films that I go to see in the future. If you have seen Me Before You let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment below in the comment box. Thanks for reading until next time Keep on Viewing.

Bad Neighbours 2
Blog New Release Review
Aaron Tansey
May 26, 2016
Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 11.56.10

Last night I went to see Bad Neighbours 2 I was looking forward to this movie because I enjoyed the first one, but at the same time I was worried because I didn’t think that there could be a sequel that would give us a fresh story that hasn’t be told all ready. Unfortunately I was right they pretty much put out the same movie as the first one whit the difference of it was sorority as a posed to a fraternity.

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 11.58.11

So the plot of the movie is Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) are back and they are trying to sell there house as they bought a bigger house because they are having a second baby. While Teddy (Zac Efron) is back he is still working in Amber Cromby and Finch and is stuck in a route while all of his fraternity brothers are moving on with there lives. Morgan (Chloe Grace Moretz) is a freshman that wants to party smoke pot and have fun with her friends, but she finds out that Sorority’s are not aloud to party so they have to go to the fraternity to party and she finds out its not for here as she is treated as a pice of meat. So she decided to to try and set up her own sorority so she they can party there own way. The house they pick for there sorority house, yes you guessed it they movie in beside Mac and Kelly while there house is in escrow which is just a cooling down period for the buyers.

So as I said it turns out to be the same movie as the first one but in saying that there is still some funny bits that will make you laugh out loud. I  did like how they tried to progress there main characters (Teddy, Mac and Kely) they also addressed the culture sexism in the US collage campuses. In saying that I still would not go into this expecting to see an Oscar contender. Its what nearly every comedy sequel is a reason to make money.

At the end of the day it was your simple three part act that didn’t have a lot of taught put into the script so they just repackaged the first movie and put out Bad Neighbours 2. I give it 2 out of 5. Did you see Bad Neighbours 2 if you did let me know what you taught by leaving a comment below. you can check out other movie reviews here. X-Men Apocalypse Review
Blog Box Office New Release Review

May 18, 2016
images.jpg xmen

Last night I went to the premier of X-Men Apocalypse in the Sligo Omniplex. I don’t know where to start but as a wise man once said start at the beginning, so That is what I will do. X-Men Apocalypse is the third installment in the Bryan Singer reboot of the franchise.

The first set of movies were released was released in 2000 and was simply called X-Men. That original series of films had 3 movies in it. the first series of movies did alright for fox so they decided to continue on making movies about mutants which turned into spin off movies about fan favorite Wolverine and they also introduced a new character to the X-Men world in the form of Deadpool which became one the biggest R-rated movies in ever.

They also decided to reboot the X-men series and it was handed to Bryan Singer to direct but ended up producing it instead and the directors job fell to Mathew Vaughn. X-Men first class came out in 2011. The prequel was haled as a critical and commercial success. Up next in the thrillogy was X-Men Days of Future Past as of the first movie Days of Future Past was a run away success earning 740 million and it also was the best reviewed X-Men movie ever.

So now that we are all caught up lets get talking about X-Men Apocalypse, the last in the current series of X-Men movies. With First Class being set in the 60’s and Days of Future Past set in the 70’s it was only right to finish the prequel’s in the 80’s just before the original X-men movies stared.

I cant put it off any longer I have to review it now. I don’t know what to think about this movie but I am hoping that by written this I can figure it out if not it will be a pretty bad review isn’t it. First of all the trailer was miss leading I was going into this film expecting a full on action from start to finish. That was not the case there was a lot of character development from the get go. We were introduced to the young X-Men and watched them grow from teenagers into heroes led by Mistique.

The main thing that stood out was how good the acting was with the always reliable James MaAvoy and Michael Fastbender giving great performance yet again and  new comer to the series Sophie Turner  (game of Thrones) was very good as the standoffish Jean Grey. The person that really made the film enjoyably for me was Even Peters as Quicksliver. He brought a lot of humor to the movie and was a breath of fresh air.

Over all it was a good film (look at that I did like it after all) It wasn’t what I was expecting but I did enjoy the film. There is room for Singer to continue the story, to bring it back in line with the first movie in 2000 but I’m not sure if they will do that because  in X-Men Days of Future Past they change the time line so they don’t have to match up the two story lines. Plus they are look to start work on an other spin off movie X-Force so it could be a while before we see the X-men again.

Let me know what you taught about X-Men Apocalypses by leaving a comment below also let me know what is you favorite X-Men movie is. You can check out some other reviews on past movies here. Thanks for reading and until next time keep on Viewing.

Last week I reported that the top 5 networks (NBC, The CW, FOX, ABC, and CBS) in the states had canceled 12 shows in one day (you can check out that post here). That was the only a small amount of what was canceled. Well the reason for this was to make room for the new shows that the networks had picked up for there fall schedule.

Last night they released of the shows that they have picked up. There is a lot of verity in the list of 43 new shows that will debut later on this year. There is comedies, Sitcoms, dramas, thrillers and even a few time traveling shows. You can check out exactly what the shows are called and who is in them, here.

I am going to look at just a few of the shows that I want to watch and the ones that I’m not that interested in. First up is a Kirsten Bell show, I haven’t haired anything about  this before today but I am a fan of bells work from Veronica Mars to House of Lies more so the latter. She is staring in a new fantasy show called The Good Place.

Next up is 24. I loved 24 when Kiefer Sunderland played Jack Bauer so I was interested to hear that Fox is bringing it back with a whole new cast. The story line sounds familiar as a veteran returning home finds him self in trouble and turns to CTU for help sounds a bit like Homeland I think but that could just be me.

Next up is A.P.B staring Justin Kirk  (Weeds) as a billionair who lost his wife to a violent crime so he buys in trouble police precinct as he puts his unorthodox skills to use trying to fix the precinct.

There is also a few show that I am not to sure about. The first show is based on the film the Exorcist. I liked the movie and it still scares the carp out of me when ever I watch it but I think that when you turn it into a show it will just lose all of its scarceness  but I could be wrong.  I think I will give it a chance and watch a few shows.

Lethal Weapon is an other film getting the small screen treatment again I think this might fall flat on its face. All you have to do is look at Rush Hour show and how well it is NOT doing in the ratings.  I think the same fate might be in store for Lethal Weapon buddy cop films like these are very hard to replicate this on the small screen.

images.jpg lw

The last show that I am not sure will work is Time After Time.  This tells the story of H.G. Wells adventures with his time machine. The twist, yes there has to be a twist as if H.G Wells with a time machine isn’t a big enough twist, Jack the Ripper gets his hands on the machine and uses it to get away from Scotland Yard. so then the chase is on.

516902226.jpg HG Wells

That is only a small bit of what was announced yesterday. you can follow the link at the start of the post to get the full list of 43 new shows debuting later this year. What do you think let me know by leaving a comment below. Thanks for reading I hope to see ye all back soon until then keep on Viewing.

Hi and welcome to this weeks New Releases USA there are 11 new movies out this week as always we are going to take a look and what I think the top 3 movies will be so lets get started.

First up is Krampus, it is a story about a boy who had a bad Christmas and ends up accidentally summoning a Christmas demon to his family home. The director of cult classic Trick ‘r Treat  Michael Dougherty takes his horror genre and gives it a Christmas felling. This movie will not make knock The Hunger Games off the top spot but it will be a good watch for all you horror fans out there.

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 23.28.03

Next up is Spike Lee’s latest movie Chi-Raq. It is a modern day adaptation of the ancient play Lysistrata by Aristophanes, set against the backdrop of gang violence in Chicago. From what I seen in the trailers I really want to see this movie. It has a great cast with the likes of Teyonah Parris, Wesley Snipes, Angela Bassett and making his come back Nick Cannon. This has all the makings to be a great movie.

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 23.28.42

My last pick this week is The Letters. This is a true story based on the remarkable life of Mother Teresa. Directed by William Riead. It spans a 50 year period of her life when she went to Calcutta to help the poorest of the poor. I don’t think that it will be a contender for the top spot but it should make it into the top 10

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 23.29.16

There is my 3 picks for this week the other movies out this week are Macbeth,Youth, A Royal Night Out, The Wold of Kanako, Life, Hitchcock/Truffaut, Christmas Eve, and MI-5. If you see any of these movies let me know what you taught of them by leaving comment below.
