Lionsgate made a major push last year into video games when it named Nerdist Industries CEO Peter Levin as President of interactive Ventyres and games. “Part of out strategy in entering the game space under Peter Levin has been to source new brands with built-in audiences that will translate into great films and television shows,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger. “ The Borderlands games don’t pull any punches and we’ll make the movie with the same in-your-face attitude that has made the series a blockbuster mega-franchise”  Check out the full story here

Borderlands is set on the planet of Pandora. Prior to the events of the game, one of the other mega-corporations, the Atlas Corporation, found an ancient vault on nearby planet of Promethea, filled with advanced alien weapons technology that allowed them to rapidly overtake their competitors.

Hi Viewers We have some good movies for you this week. There are four new films out in Irish cinemas and I will show you what I think will be the top 3. First up is a found-footage horror about a group of students who resurrect the failed show in a misguided attempt to honour the anniversary of the tragedy but they soon discover that some things are better left alone. Horror films have been doing well at the box office this summer so it might do well. it had a good opening weekend in the states opening in 5th place so it might have a good run here as well.

the-gallows

Up next is Self/less staring Ryan Reynolds, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Goode, and Ben Kingsley and directed by Tarsem Singh. It is about a wealthy man, dining from cancer and undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man, but all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organisation that will kill to protect its cause. I think that this film will open mid table 5th or 6th.

Selfless_large

And last but by no means least is Marvels next flick Ant Man. Directed by Peyton Reed and staring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll, to say just a few. Rudd gets armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. He is a con-man who must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against Seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

This weeks TV Rewind is the kids show Goosebumps based on the stores of R.L. Stine’s award-winning book series which places average kids in a weird alternate reality, where they find themselves facings such situations as haunted amusement parks, possessed Halloween masks and other bizarre and frightening scenarios.

Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 12.29.55

The show originally aired in 1995 and ran until 1998. There was some conterviresy over the content of the show and weather are not it was suitable for younger viewers so it was giving a GB-7 or TV-Y7 rating in the states, which meant that it was not suitable for kids under 7. In England the show was aired on CBBC who heavily censored the show making big cuts to it, are just banning the episode altogether.

The first Goosebumps book was written in 1992 and it was Welcome to Dead House. Between 1992 and 1997 there was 62 books published under the Goosebumps umbrella. And there was 74 episodes in the 4 seasons of the TV show. Goosebumps is coming back in the form of a film. staring Jack Black as R.L. Stine. It is out in cinemas October 16th.

I remember watching Goosebumps on Cartoon Network most of the shows were entertaining to watch but some of them just scared the hell out of me and sure wasn’t that half the fun.

Do you remember Goosebumps let me know, leave a comment below. You can check out last weeks TV Rewind here. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind just leave your suggestion in the comment box below. Thanks for reading I will see you all next week until then keep on Viewing.

There are 8 new films out this week and this could be the most competitive weekend battle we have seen in a while. I am going to be taking a look at what i think will the best films out this week.

We start off with a film that I have been waiting for, for a long time and that is the Entourage movie. Thats right Vincent Chase, Ari Gold and the rest of the gang are back and this time it is on the big screen. People are saying that this will be just a really long episode, and I hope it is because that was a good show. It gave you a glimpse of what it was really like to be a movie star in Hollywood. The show which ran for 8 seasons was very popular so I would think that this will opening high in the charts.

download.jpg Entourage

Next up is Melissa McCarthy’s new film and this time she is teaming up with Jude Law and Jason Statham as a CIA analyst set undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer to prevent diabolical global disaster. This film has a grate blend of action and comedy which will play well the cinemas. From the look of the trailers this is a movie that will ape lea to a wide audience.

Spy-Movie-2015

The last movie I will be taking a look at is Insidious: Chapter 3. With the recent success of Poltergeist and the first 2 Insidious films I thinks that this could do very well in the carts. With the third film set as a prequel to the other two movies this is a pretty standard attempt to continue the saga.

insidious-3

There you have it my top 3 pick for this week but also out this week is, Love and Mercy, Testament of Youth, A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence, Hungry Hearts, and Police Story: Lockdown

Don’t forget to check out this weeks US Top 10 to see how these movies get on at the box office. Thanks for Reading I will see ye all next week until then keep on Viewing

Empire is reporting that the sequel to 2013’s World War Z has a release Date. Penned by Steven Knight, it’ll be out on June 9 2017, leaving just the small matter of Juan Antonio Bayona’s actual production in the mean time. The first movie pulled in half a billion dollars at the box office surprising many that had predicted it would be a flop. Bayona and Knight  singed onto the project around this time last year, with Knight saying that the sequel is a “a clean slate”

WWZ

With no plot details revealed so far, it’s still unclear what that means. Is it possible that World War Z  is set to become an anthology series, with each potential instalment a smaller piece of a bigger puzzle? Are we going to move focus to different characters, leaving Brad Pitt to produce-via his Plan B shingle-but not appear in front of the camera? Or was Knigth just talking about ignoring whatever had already been written and starting his own attack form scratch?

What is certain is that there’s plenty of as-yet unused material fem Max Brook’s novel fro the film to draw on. The undead are moving more slowly this time though, since the hoped-for start date last autumn shuffled past with nothing happening. Since the clock is now officially ticking, however,we’d assume there’ll be more action soon.

Deadline is reporting that AMC has ordered two seasons of the walking dead spin off show. They have ordered them after seeing the recently finished pilot episode.

It seems like a big thing to order two seasons even before the show has aired its first show but the first season consist only of six hour long episodes.

“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what is going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did turn. Through this new series , we’re going to find out”, said charlie Collier, AMC president “Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distant. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the lates of) our dead.

The new The Walking Daed companion series will be set in Los Angeles and feature new character unaffiliated with the original series, led by cliff Curtis and Kim Dickens. The new show is scheduled to debut in the Late summer.
