Hi Viewers and welcome to an other Video of The Week Review. I have to start of this post by saying that this weeks Video has a mature team that some viewers may find disturbing viewers discretion is advised.

This week i have chosen a short movie called Fishhook is a suspense drama about a young man confronting the pains of his past. They never come right out and say what the young man is dealing with and you are left to decide what has gone on in the past between these characters. This is why I think that two different people can watch the same film but get two different story out of it because most of the story is about what is not said in the movie.

It starts off with Brandon played by Ryan DeLuca getting a text from someone called Davey asking about Mr. Mike and this makes Brandon very worried, so he goes to confront Mr. Mike at his workshop, and the meeting dose not end well.

I taught the acting in this movie was top class the Ryan DeLuca was very good in this film he brings you into the story from the first second of the movie. Mr Mike who is played by Paul Hickert also is very good in this movie as the man that is trying to act like everything is ok and that he has done nothing wrong.

For me the cinematography is just grate the shaking of the cmara throughout symbolises the turmoil that Brandon is going through. There is no music at the start of the film until the fight and it just make it more impactful.

This film is defiantly about reading between the line and drawing your own conclusions. I think it is great film by Crown Chip Film and a very good job was done by the director Nickolas Duarte. I Am looking forward to seeing more films from these guys. Here is the Movie

Netflix has renewed their new show Narcos for a second season only a week after its upload to the streaming website, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Narcos is an American crime drama that debuted on August 28 of this year on Netflix. It is a serialized take on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar played by Wagner Moura and the Medellin Cartel. The show was created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard  and Doug Miro. The creative team originally envisioned Narcos as a movie, the producers told reporters in July at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that they realized it worked better as an ongoing series “When you get into the complexities of the drug world, of the characters, you sort of realized you need a lot of time to tell that story” Newman Said.

The success of Narcos continues Netflix’s run of successful original programming with the likes of Orange Is The New Black, Daredevil Bloodline, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt today but a few Netflix show no sings of slowing down with new show planed with Marvel like Luck Cage and Jessica Jones and the Chelsea Handler Talk Show. This weeks Video of The Week is called Incictus. It is about a young man training for a boxing match. There is a voice over as you see the man training and it saying how there will be people out there that want you to fail, but that it is the strength in you heart that will help you go on and that you should never give up.

I like this film it is very short but it a good film. First off is the music suits the film brilliantly it starts of nice and low and picks up throughout the film. It was a good choice by the film maker. The script is very good, It very much an inspirational video but it still tells the story of a struggle the boxer is having with himself and how he is trying to keep going. The shoots look grate with some grate backgrounds. It gives you a felling that he is from a small town and that he is fighting to get out and make something better of himself.

I think this is a good film but it would have been better as an ending of a longer film. It would have hit home more if there was a back story of the boxer training for a fight an maybe losing it and this was his way of getting back up again but that is just my opinion.

Let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment below, and if there is a short film you would like to recommend for Video of The Week let get in contact on viewit.ie Facebook or Twitter. Thanks for reading I will see ye all next week until then keep on Viewing.

Hi Viewers welcome to this weeks Video of The Week Review. This week it is the short film 8. This war time drama. There is an unknowing war going on and it is played out on screen by the these two main characters. There is no dialog in the film but it is so well directed and acted that you still know exactly what is going on. The whole film looks stunning with some of the best cinematography I have seen in any short film. It is easy to see why this film has featured in over 50 festivals and won Best Short @Film Monfilmfest and @films short Film Festival.

I think that location for the film added son much to the film by putting these two charters in shuck a remote setting, it made the story very much about them. The black humour is a nice touch as well. So much happened in this 10 minute film with the tables turning so much you never know who is going to come out on top, and that is why I love the ending so much because I never seen it coming and the look of smugness of the solders faces is priceless but don’t just take my word for it, have a look for yourself.

What did you think of it, let me know by leaving a comment below, and if there is any short film or video you would like to see as Video of The week get in touch with me on Facebook Twitter or Viewit. Until next week Viewers Keep on Viewing.

Hi Viewers its time for this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie. This week we have gone with Rush staring Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Bruhl and Olivia Wilde, and directed by Ron Howard. Rush is  set in the mid 70’s and charismatic English playboy James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Austrian perfectionist Niki Landa (Bruhl) share an intense rivalry in Formula 1 racing. Driving vehicles that are little more than gas-filled, rolling bombs, Hunt and Lauda burn up the track, all while pushing themselves to the breaking point of physical and mental endurance. Meanwhile the women (Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara) in their lives can only watch as both drivers risk death with every lap.

Rush was released in the cinemas in 2013 but I only got around to watching it last week. I suppose the reason was because I scene it was about Formula 1 and I wasn’t that interested in seeing it but it was recommend to me by one a Viewer so i gave it a look, and I’m glad I did because I really enjoyed it. you don’t have to be into Formula 1 to enjoy this character driven film. The racing is a back drop it is all about these two men fighting it out to see who the better man is. Now don’t get me wrong there is a lot of racing in this film, which is filmed every well and looks grate but it’s not everything about this film. What it is about is two grate drivers and there will to be the best.

The acting in Rush was very good to my surprise I taught Chris Hemsworth was just the big fella that plays Thor in the Marvels films (which I like to) but he really shows his acting chops in this film. I did not no much about Bruhl but I did know that his acting in this film was grate. I was not the only one to think this either Bruhl won a lot critical acclaim and was nominated for many awards including Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.Over all this is a grate film that I think a lot of people will enjoy Here is the trailer have a look and see what you think.

Hi Viewers Last night I went to see a Ted 2 which I wrote about earlier on (Check it out here)but when the film was finished I seen that Southpaw was just staring so i was like what the hell I have nothing better to be doing so I went into see it. I had not heard a lot about this film before I seen it which I thing was a good thing cause I went in with a open mind and no preconceived ideas about it good are bad.

The story is of a superstar boxer who has everything the house the cars the beautiful wife and grate kid. Then a personal tragedy send him in a tail spin to rock bottom where he has to fight to get his life back on track. The films Star Jake Gyllenhaal gives a grate performance as lead character Billy Hope and take you on a roller-coster ride of emotions  throughout the film. He really through him self into this character and was nearly unrecognisable. There was a grate supporting cast with Rachel McAdams play Billy’s wife Maureen it was clear to see that she was the one to keep Billy grounded and help him make the decisions in his life.

Forest Whitaker played Billy’s mentor. He was grate but I wanted to see his character developed more then it was, Whitaker is such a grate actor it was a shame not to see him go deeper into the character of Tick, maybe we will see it when the directors cut is released. The standout actor in this movie for me was Oona Laurence who played Leila Hope the daughter Gyllenhaal’s character. She was grate in this movie and had some really powerful seems which Jake which made the movie for me.

There was a few let downs for me I taught it would have been a better film if they concentrated more on the characters then the boxing, they defiantly had the actors to do so and if they need to make the film longer to do so I think it would have been worth it. Also there was so iffy acting from 50 Cent who played Jordan Mains Billy Hopes manger but it would be hard for any start up actor to come into a cast like this and not be found out. Over all I love this movie and I give it 4 out of 5. If you have seen it let me know what you taught by leaving a comment below.

Hi Viewers its time to find out what new films are hitting our screens this week. There are 7 new films for you to enjoy this weekend. First up is Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. This is the fifth installment in the franchise and it is being billed as one of the best. Tom Cruise is back with his crew Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and is joined by Rebecca Ferguson. Ethan and the team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the syndicate – an international rogue organisation as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF. I think that it will open at number 1 this week kicking Marvels Ant-Man off the top spot after only 2 weeks.

Next is Vacation a round trip comedy with our favourite family the Griswold’s. Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein and staring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins this have the makings of a very good movie and judging from the trailer it stands up to those expectations. I think this will open well and place mid table.

Last but not least is The End of the Tour.Staring Jason Segel and Jesse Disenberg. It tells the story of the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace, which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace’s groundbreaking epic novel, “Infinite Jest” this film has only a limited release so I don’t think it will make it into the top 10

Hi Viewers its time for this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie, and this week we are going with a court room drama, A Few Good Men. Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is a military lawyer defending two U.S. Marines charged with killing a fellow Marine at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. Although Kaffee is know for seeking plea bargains, a fellow lawyer, Lt. Cdr. JoAnne Galloway pay led by Demi Moore convinces him that the accused marines were most likely carrying out an order from a commanding officer. Kaffee takes a risk by calling Col. Nathan R. Jessep played by Jack Nicholson, to the stand in an effort to uncover the conspiracy.

This court room drama was released back in 1992 and was directed by Rob Reiner and was adapted for the screen by Aaron Sorkin from his play of the same name. The film was a box office smash hit with a world wide takings of $243 million agents a budget of $33 million. it was also well received by the critics. This was one of the best films of the 90’s. The acting in it was so good with Cruise, Moore and Nicholson giving grate performances. The scene where Cruise is questing Nicholson’s character on the stand is one of my favourite cinematic moments in film and it gave us one of the most used quotes of all time “you can’t handle the truth”.

Hi Viewers its that time of the week again, it time too see what is coming out in the cinema this week. There are 7 new releases in the Irish cinemas. so lets get started, first up is Arnold Schwarsenegger film Maggie. There is a deadly zombie epidemic threatening humanity, but Wade, a small-town farmer and family man, refuses to accept defeat even when his daughter Maggie becomes infected. As Maggies condition worsens and the authorities seek to eradicate those with the virus, Wade is pushed to the limits in an effort to protect her. Up next is the eagerly awaited film Southpaw. Staring Rachel McAdams, Jake Gyllenhaal, 50 Cent, and Forest Whitaker. It tells the story of a boxer who fights his way to the top nay to find his life falling apart around him. There has been a lot of good talk about this film and I think it will open will but again it doesn’t have what it takes to take the top spot.

Fist up is an animated film by Pete Docter and Ronaldo Del Carmen, Inside Out. This film has been a world wide hit so fare and I see no reason why it wont be a hit here in Ireland as well. After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions, Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. This film has a grate premiss and I am look forward to seeing it. Like wise there will be a lot of Moms and Dads out there will be picking this one as the weekly film to go see.

INSIDE-OUT-18 (1)

Hi Viewers, it is time to see what is coming this week in the cinemas. There are 8 new releases this week for you to pick from and first up is Pixels. Staring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan and Peter Dinklage, this is a film where you check you brain at the entrance and pick up on the way out. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with some mindless fun out wise know as an Adam Sandler movie and an added bounce you have the nostalgic feel about with when alien invaders invade in the from of old school computer games Pack Man, and so on. This film will be lots of fun but it will not knock Minions of the top spot.

My last pick is an other horror film The Vatican Tapes. Horror films have done very well this summer with a lot of them opening in the top 10. I think this one will be no different. Starring Kathleen Robertson, Michael Pena, Djimon Hounsou and Dougray Scoot. Aprist and two Vatican exorcists must do battle with an ancient satanic force to save the soul of a young woman.
