Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. If this is your first time to be reading TV Rewind then I hope you enjoy it. TV Rewind is where we take a look back at some of the shows that have come and gone off our screens over the years and this week is no different.

This week we are going back to 2004, and taking a look at Deadwood.

Deadwood is set in 1870’s Deadwood, South Dakota. This was after the civil war when South Dakota still belonged to the Native Americans, and before it was annexed to become part of the United States. Because it was not part of the States there was no law in the town of Deadwood, so the people governed themselves.

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 11.12.40

At this time Deadwood was in the middle of the gold rush and people from all over the world came to the small mining camp to make their fortune at the mining. Then you had the people that wanted to make their money off the miners, like hotels, salons, hardware stores and so on, but in a town with no laws only the strong and the powerful will survive.

I have only started watching this show recently, but I am glad that I did start watching it because it is one of those shows that was very good but didn’t get the recognition that it deserved.

The way I would describe it would be the Sopranos in the Wilde Wilde West. It has a lot of bad language a lot of violence, and a lot of back stabbing. One of the main characters is Al Swearengen played by Ian McShane. He owns one of the Salons in Deadwood, where he offers drink, girls and gambling.

The other main character is Seth Bullock played by Timothy Olyphant. He was a law man before he and his friend Sol Star (John Hawkes) moved to Deadwood to open a Hardware store. Seth is the complete opposite to Al in every way. He believes in right and wrong and the fare deal never taking more then is owed. Naturally Seth and Al don’t get along with each other. There relationship makes for some great moments.

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 11.14.35

There is also a lot of historical figures that show up in Deadwood. The likes of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jean, and Wyatt Earp and more people like that.

This is one of the show that fans of crime show must watch. I highly recommend it. If you have seen Deadwood let me know what you taught of it by leaving a comment in the comment box below. There is some good news for the fans of the show a Deadwood is in the works so the story is not over yet.

Dangerous Minds Trailer thumbnail

Hi and welcome to this weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie. If this is your first time to hear about S.N.S.I.M it is simple.

The way I see it there is two groups of people on a Saturday night. The ones that go out partying and having fun and the ones that stay in for whatever reason. S.N.S.I.M is for the second group of people.

I will suggest a movie that you could watch with that will pass the time for you.

This week it is Dangerous Minds staring Michelle Pheiffer as a former Marine who get a job teaching a class of at risk underachieving students that has no respect for authority.

Screen Shot 2016-08-12 at 17.19.21

She must gain the respect of her class before she can start teaching them anything. This was based on the autobiography of LouAnne Johnson a retired U.S Marine who took up teaching at Carlmount High School in Belmont California.

The movie was a panned by critics when it was first released but went on to make over $170 million at the box office.(It just shows you that reviews are just the opinion of the writer and just because a movie gets bad reviews doesn’t mean its a bad movie but some reviews do get it right like Fantastic Four)

I didn’t see this movie when it was first released It must have been 5 years later when I first got to see it, but when I did finally get to watch it I did really like it.

Screen Shot 2016-08-12 at 17.19.46

I taught Michelle Pheiffer was very good in it and I just liked the story over all. I don’t want to call it a feel good movie but in a way it is. You have a person trying to do the right thing and help the kids out and to a certain extant it works but she cant change them all. Check out the trailer

When you talk about Dangerous Mind you have to talk about that song as well which became an instant classic. Coolio’s Gangster Paradise. Too this day when it comes on the radio I cant help but sing along.

Have you seen Dangerous Minds if you have let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment below. If you would like to suggest a movie for next weeks Saturday Night Stay In Movie just leave you suggestion in the comment box. You can also check out last weeks S.N.S.I.M here. Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. If this is your first time reading TV Rewind, then welcome. The Idea of TV Rewind is to look back at some of the shows that we used to watch growing and maybe still watch today. This week is no different.

This week we are going back to 1987 and we are taking a look at Star Trek The Next Generation.

Star Trek The Next Generation was the follow up too the original Star Trek show. It first aired in 1987 and ran fro 7 years and 4 movies. The show stared Patrick Stewart, Wil Wheaten, and  Whoopi Goldberg to name a few. It was set 70 years after the end of original Star Trek finished. This was the sixth crew to take charge of the famous Enterprise.

Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 08.49.17

The show enjoyed the same success that followed the original show and became one of NBC’s most watched show on their network. It ran for  over 170 episodes.

The show was cancelled after the seventh season which was a shock to the cast and crew because it was enjoying constantly high ratings, plus the cast was contracted for an eight season. Many believe it was cancelled because the cost of wages would get to expensive also there was movies planed and the network taught the movies would perform better if there wasn’t a show on at the same time.

When the Next Generation came out it cause a divide in the Star Trek fans. They could not agree on who was a better captain, was it Captain Kirk, Star Trek Original (William Shatner) or Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) Which was your favourite let me know by leaving a comment below.

Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 08.51.24

Over all Star Trek The Next Generation was a much loved show and could have gone on for a few more seasons if it wanted. Did you watch Star Trek the Next Generation, if you did let me know what you taught about it by leaving comment below in the comment box. If you  would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can leave you suggestion in the comment box. You can also check out last week TV Rewind here. For those of you that might not be formula with TV Rewind its really quite simple, I take a look at some the shows that have gone off the air but that we still remember for how good they were. You can check out our other TV Rewinds here. This week Im going with a BBC show called Yes Minster and then later on it was called Yes Prime Minster. My father used to watch it the whole time. I must put my hands up and say that I didn’t watch this when I was young, it was a few years ago when I started watching it as the reruns were being show on Gold that I realised how fecking funny it acutely was.

Yes Minster fellows the political career of Minster for Department of Administrative Affairs Jim Hacker (Paul Eddington) and his advisers, his private Secretary Bernard Woolley (Derek Fowlds) and Permanent Secretary Humphrey Appleby (Nigel Hawthorne) Minster Hacker was keen to bring about changes to the Civil Service but would be fought every step of the way the Sir Humphrey. Humphrey would do it in such a way that he would confuses the Minster and have hime thinking that not changing the Civil Serves was his own idea. Yes Minster ran for four years 1980-1984 that is when they made a sequel called yes Prime Minster which continued much like Yes minster but now with Minster Hacker as the Prime Minster and Humphrey still fighting for what is best for the Civil Serves.

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 10.17.13

One of my favourite episodes is where Humphrey has to try and convince the Prime Minister that a fully staffed hospital that isn’t taking in any patients is best for the patients. As you can imagine at this stage the Minster is easily lead (polite way of calling him dumb) and Humphrey’s a fast talking Civil Servant who will do anything to make sure the civil servants of England do as little work as possible and get paid as much as possible as well. I think the main reason that Yes Minster became so popular was because of the fast talking Humphrey. He defiantly stole the show, but he wouldn’t have looked so good without have the slithy stupid and very easily lead Minster Hacker to play off the two were perfect together.

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 10.15.22

Yes Minster was made during the golden age of British comedy and found itself up against some of the funniest comedy ever made, Faulty Towers, Monty Python, Only Fools and horses to say but a few, and just like these other great shows it has stood the test of time and  still has a big Following today. Yes Minster is seen as the sixth best British comedy ever made.

Have you ever watched Yes Minster let me know if you have by leaving a comment in the comment box below. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can by leaving you suggestion in the comment box. You can also check out last weeks TV Rewind here. Hi every one and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. In the short year and a half that Viewit.ie has being in existence, there has been over 30 TV Rewinds. Now as the site keeps growing we keep getting more and more new viewers, and one of those new viewers asked me to do a TV Rewind of Glenroe. Now for our Irish and English Viewers a lot of people will know what Glenroe was but for the rest of the world, not so much.

Well Glenroe was a soap made for RTE. It was a spin off of an other Soap made for RTE called the Riordans which ran from 1965 to 1979. ( Some say the Riordans inspired the English soap Emmerdale Farm). Glenroe first aired in September 1983 and for 18 years with the final episode being aired in May of 2003. The show was set in the Fictional rural village of Glenroe County Cork. Staring Mick Lally, Joe Lynch and Gabriel Byrne and a host of others the show followed the life of Miley and Biddy. Miley wanted a wife and he had his eyes set on Biddy and there was a lot of will they wont they, (spoiler alert) they did in 1985 they got married. Miley and biddy were the central characters but there was a lot going on in the small Cork town of Glenroe. There was affairs local business men trying to make a quick few pounds of the poor famers, the show also dealt with Religion a lot and also the Travailing Community.

Screen Shot 2016-06-22 at 12.33.03

The show quickly became one of the most watched shows on Irish TV. The Sunday night families would watch the show together as the kids didn’t want to go to bed yet and would have watched paint dry to avoid this were happy to watch the going on in Glenroe while the parents were happy with all the gossip that was also going on but going over the kids heads, like the time Miley had an affair with Fidelma in the barn this had the nation talking for weeks after.

Screen Shot 2016-06-22 at 12.33.21

My memory of Glenroe is patchy. Like most kids I knew that if I wanted to stay up a bit later on a sunday night I would have to watch Glenroe. One thing that did stick out for me was the car crash where Biddy dies. I just Remember the sense of shock in the sitting room and the silence as well. I think it was the same all around the country I could be wrong. For 18 seasons we were kept entrained and many were sad to see Glenroe go off the air in 2001 but others did feel the show had run its course, and so on  the 6th of may 2001 we all said good buy to Glenroe. Looking back at the shows now I think it showed how innocent we were as a country which was a good thing it was simpler back then. Did you watch Glenroe, what did you think of it let me know what you taught about it by leaving a comment below. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can leave your suggestion in the comment. You can also check out last weeks TV Rewind here. Hi and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. Now if you are new to TV Rewind it dose exactly like it wounds like. It is a Blog where we rewind the TV years and relive some of the greatest show that was ever on TV. ( You and check out some of the other TV Rewinds here). Well this week is no different. This week we are going to be taken a look back at what could be the best show that was ever on TV in the world. Only Fools and Horses. Only Fools and Horses was made by the BBC back in 1981. The show ran for 7 season spanning 22 years and then returning for christmas specials in 2014.

Only Fools and horses (for those of you who might not know about the show) follows 2 brothers Derek Del boy and Rodney Trotter, who leave in the council flats at Peckham South London with there Granddad. Del boy was always trying to make a quick book and he wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t entirely legal. One of the great saying Del Boy had in the show was “This time next year we will be million airs” and he would always have a schema in mind to try and make it a realty. While Del wants to make money quick his little brother Rodney want to do it more legally but at the end of the day he doesn’t care where the money comes from either, all the while you have Granddad in the back ground telling his war stories.

Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 16.32.00

The show is one of the most popular show the BBC has ever made and it is shown in reruns to this day. The lead actor David Jonson who played Del Boy has played other roles but he will be forever remembered for the way he played Del. Del was great but he had a great supporting cast as well in Nicholas Lyndhurst who played Del’s brother Rodney, and Lennard Pearce who played there Granddad and later on Buster Marryfield who played Uncle Albert. Buster came on the show in 1985 after Lennard Pearce passed away.

Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 16.32.58

The only reason I watched this show was because my father loved the show and the only way I could stay up past bed time on a sunday night was if I was watching the show with him. but when I got older and started to understand the jokes I found out why my father loved the show so much and in turn I loved the show. You know the old saying they don’t make em like that any more, this rings true here because after the show went off the air in 2003 it came back for some christmas specials and it just didn’t work because (Spoiler Alert) when the show ended in 2003 the boys had become millionaires and it was the perfect ending to there story. When they were brought back for the specials they were put back at the very same council apartment an it was just a little bit too depressing for a christmas special but that is just the way I fell about it I could be wrong.

Did you watch Only Fools and Horses what did you think about it let me know by leaving a comment in the comment box bellow. Also you can check out last weeks TV Rewind here. If you would like to suggest a show for next weeks TV Rewind you can by leaving you suggestion in the comment box. Thats it for an other week thanks for reading until next week keep on Viewing.

Hi everyone, this is the second week I have done this post people seem to have enjoyed last weeks post (Check it out here) so I will give it an other go this week. Each week I write a post called Saturday Night Stay In Movie it is for the people that stayed away from the pubs and clubs and watched a movie instead. (check out some of them here) well this post is for the people that did go out on the Saturday Night to the pubs and clubs and maybe enjoy themselves a bit to much an might not be felling the best. Well that’s where I come in and recommend  a show are movies to binge on to help take you mind off the hang over.

This weeks Sunday recovery is going to be Archer. You can find six seasons of Archer on Netflix. Archer is a adult cartoon about a independent spy organisation called International Secret Intelligence Services (ISIS). The show is a cartoon but defiantly not for the kids as the characters fumble there way through cases using foul langue, talking about sex, and using lots of alcohol and drugs. the situations they get into and is just brilliant and the things they say to each other some of the funnest and rudest you will hear any where. if this was a live action show there would be no way it would ever see the light of day, although take a look at Veep I cant believe some of the stuff they get away with.

Screen Shot 2016-05-28 at 11.46.14

I’m gone off the point this is a show that you will help you laugh away the hangover and you will find it hard to stop watching, unless you are easily offended then I would recommend to stay away from this one. You  can find the first six seasons on Netflix.

Let me know what you taught of this weeks Sunday Recovery by leaving a comment below. You can check out last weeks Sunday Recovery here. I want to talk to you about fan made movies. There as being a huge uptake in the amount of fan made movies out there. This has being helped by a number of factors, the prince on equipment coming down, social media, and video shearing website. All these things together have give rise to the fan made film.

What is a fan made movie, well it is exactly what it sounds like. It is a movie made by fans the way they think it should be made. One of the earliest fan made movie i remember hearing about was based on Joss Whedon’s western Si-Fi show Firefly, the show was cancelled after only 1 season which made a lot of people mad. There was a campaign to get the show back on the air but wham that failed the fans took it upon them selfs not to let it die, so a group came together and wrote a script and financed a movie them selfs and called it Browncoast: Redemption here is the trailer for it.

On of my favourite fan made movies was out earlier this year. It was a R-rated movie about the Power Rangers and what was life like fro the world and the Rangers now that they were all grown up. It was not good because they had lost the war here is the short movie

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 23.13.49

It was Directed by Joseph Kahn and stared James Van Der Beek and Katee Scakhoff. When it was realised back in February the internet went crazy and has over 16 million views on Youtbe.

One of the latest fan made movie out is of Spiderman. Based on the comics story line of when Peter Parker dies and a new spiderman is found. It has not taken off like some other fan made movies but it has got over 200,000 views in the last few days. have a look at it and let me know what you think.

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 23.15.47

What do you think about fan made films do you think it should be left to the pros or are they fan made movies better then what Hollywood dose. My self I think some of the Fan made films are better then the Hollywood films because the fans don’t have to worry about who the might offend if they say a line in a certain way or if they cast a charter a certain way, in short they have ore freedom to do it the way they want it done. Here is a top 10 list from Listverse and what they think is 10 fan made films that are better then the Hollywood films.

Let me know what you think about Fan made movie by leaving a comment below.

Hi Viewers and welcome to this weeks TV Rewind. This week we are going back to the 70’s to one of my favorite comedies of all time, Fawlty Towers. “Basil Fawlty is an inept and slightly out of his-head English hotel manager, who is tortured by “that annoying section of the general public shoe insist on staying at hotels.” Fawlty is constantly berated by his wife, and his efforts are continually hampered by their Spanish waiter, Manuel.”

Screen Shot 2015-08-20 at 09.20.10

The show was writhen by Monty Python (An other grate TV Rewind) member John Cleese and his wife Connie Booth who star in the show as Basil Fawlty and Polly the waitress respectively. Fawlty Towers first aired in September 1975 on BBC2. There was only 12 episodes made two seasons of 6. In a list drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000, voted by Industry professionals, Fawlty Towers was named the best British television series of all time.

The show was top class comedy with each episode funnier then the next, but there was some out standing episodes that have me cry with laughter every time I see them. One of them is The Builders. Basil and his wife Sybil go away for the weekend with friends and while they are away they have hired a builder to do some improvements to the hotel Sybil want to hire a local builder who is expensive but Basil hires a cheap builder and it all goes wrong for him. One of the funniest moments on TV is when Sybil comes back to find the cheap builder working in the hotel.

Screen Shot 2015-08-20 at 09.23.41

Over all Fawlty Towers is a show that will be making people laugh for a long time as it lives on in reruns.
